Walk-in before biometrics schedule date

My son and I just received our biometrics letters. Both of our fingerprinting is scheduled for 09/08/2011.

Does anyone know if its okay to do a walk-in in the local USCIS office and have the fingerprinting done earlier than the scheduled date? Can anyone please let me know what to expect or what is the fingerprinting procedure when I do a walk-in? Wondering if we will be turned away and be told to go back on my scheduled date. Will doing the fingerprinting early make the process faster?

Thanks for any info.

A walk-in is the same as a regular. Finger printing and photo.

You don't say which is your local center so cant really answer if you can do one or not. Some allow it some don't.

Most offices do accept walk-ins. My suggestion is just go there and make sure it is not too busy then get in and hand in your document. Do not mention you are doing and early biometrics - sometimes they don't notice the appointment information (especially if they want to be picky). If you mention it, you draw their attention to how you are there on a day that is not for you and they might get cranky!

That's exactly what I did. I walked in and said "I am here for a biometrics". Got the form, filled it out, got my letter stamped, and received a number (next one in line), completed FPs, and came back to work. No questions asked.

I think for naturalization, doing an early FP does help because it appears that the system kicks you into the interview line at your local office. So it is my belief that you will be in the queue based on the time the system forwards your information...

good luck!

I've done mine next day after i receive FP letter, and it was successful, officer asked me why i came before my scheduled date, my response that i was working near the local office and since i live far from i took advantage for this opportunity to have my finger print taken. She said Ok, i had my FP taken and the same day i was schedule for Interview :-) now I am a US Citizen. I had my in Charollote.

Thank you for your info. My field office is in Baltimore MD. Accdg to USCIS website, I have to set-up an Infopass appointment. It looks like they don't do walk-ins.
