Hey you brought me good luck. THANK YOU! I congratulated you on break from my work tonight for your NOA2 while I checked my status which showed like normal...my file had not been touched since February 9, 2011, 2 days after my NOA1. I have followed your timeline as I too had a husband stuck in background checks.. (Indonesia seems to also be a high risk country). Your NOA2 gave me hope tonight as I sat checking airfare for my trip to see my husband in 4 weeks for our first anniversary. Much to my surprise, when I got home 2 hours later, I have an RFE in my mail. Four pages long, but still such a blessing to see and know that my file has not been forgotten or lost. You are absolutely right....never lose hope. May the rest of your journey be smooth fast sailing.

I would like to say to everyone here thank you so much. I am so thankful to God for the miracle of letting me meet my amazing husband. It has been a very tough journey. I thought that the longest we would wait was 4 to 6 months for the whole process because that is what I was led to believe in the beginning. My eyes were opened widely when Monyfer's NOA2 took 9 months and 20 days. Ours took 9 months and 10 days.

My advice now to everyone going through this process is to never give up hope, but as soon you pass the 5 month mark, you must actively go after the NOA2. Start with calling to talk to a Tier 2 person. Do not even waste your time with the person that answers your call. Remember that the Tier 2 person is on a time limit so have your questions ready and to the point. BE kind and humble and very appreciative of their workload. If I did not hear anything within a week, I would call back every week and still ask for a Tier 2 and be kind and humble and appreciative because you are talking to a new person. I would call every week and I would call my Congressman. If you can find a Congressman or Senator who specializes in Immigration in your district, call them. Be very active and do not be afraid to be active.

The most important thing to remember is to stay positive that your NOA2 is there waiting for you and you are just trying to get someone to send it to you.

My other advice is that this is extremely hard on your relationship. You must remember you are not angry at your spouse or your fiancee, you are angry because you are stressed about the process. Keep reminding each other that this is not forever. Keep reminding each other that you will be very very very lucky if the process is over within one year. Keep loving each other and thanking God for each other everyday.

Thank you all for your kind words. They mean so much to us.

Congratulations! That's wonderful!!

Did you ever find out what took them so long? Or what finally got them moving?

Don't forget to update your timeline...:dance:

I called on July 15 to talk to a Tier 2 person. I was very honest to him. He was wonderful and very honest and sincere back to me and went way over his time limit to help me. That night I got a message that there was an RFE sent to me.

I also had a congressman's aide calling and checking on the since May 20, 2011.

Your NOA2 is waiting for you. It will come. Call and ask for a Tier 2 and inspire them to listen to your story. The tier 2 told me people call him crying and heartbroken all the time. I had a list of questions and I kept thanking him for listening and I told him that I was going to have to give up everything if I did not hear something soon because I was moving to Turkey to be with my husband.

Keep calling every week until you get your NOA2.
