When your petition is approved, you will be sent a notice that it was approved and it is now being sent to the NVC.

If an adjudicator needs more evidence prior to making a decision, you will be sent a Request for Evidence notice (RFE).

Once you get the notice that it's going to the NVC, be proactive and start preparing the paperwork you will need to send to the NVC. This includes stuff like police check certificate, long birth certificate, affidavit of support paperwork with tax documents.... check out what you will need WAY in advance. I didn't, and now my timeline is 2 months longer than it could have been.

Hello from Brazil, I am in Fortaleza now for work.

See Yings shortcuts on here and collect everything you will need. Signed DS-230 from your husband/wife, their long birth certificate and police certificate if it does not have expiration that is too soon. Then you can send it to NVC right after your case is done instead of getting it all later. I finished the NVD step in 10 days instead of months by following the shortcuts. You will need to email the 3032 when it is in NVC step so you can ignore the barcode stuff. But the email must come from your husband/wife's email. Find the shortcuts and all will be clear.
