Hello,

My fiance sent his documents for our I-129F petition last Wednesday via India Post and I think he said it was the standard service.

I'm getting really impatient here and was just wondering, how long does it take India Post to deliver to International destinations? I think he said 8-10 days so maybe by next week or is it longer?

Thanks!

I am the petitioner.

Some documents were mailed by my family from india by standard post. It took them about 2-3 weeks to get here. They were mailed from new delhi. A better expensive alternative is DHL which I used 2nd time. The mail took 2 business days along with tracking info.

I believe standard service does takes 8-10 business days but when my husband had sent me documents via FEDEX it took 4-5 business days. Hope you get your documents soon.

My wife sent all of our documents using Blue Dart. The quickest was 5 days and the longest was 9.

This is going from West India (Gujarat) to the Mid-West (Ohio Valley).

Hmmm, I've never heard of Blue Dart. I'll have to ask my fiance if it's available in his area.

You can also use "Speed Post" option available from Indian Post Office. They do provide tracking number which can be tracked from Indian side only but it tells you till the package is delivered in US. My brother uses this service all the time and we get the documents within 1 week time or less and also it is less expensive compared to the other private companies..You might want check this one out since in immigration process there will a lot of time where documents are send from India and it gets a lot more expensive after some time.

P.S. This is just from my own personal experience and my own opinion.

So as an update, it's been 3 weeks since my fiance mailed my documents and nothing has come yet!!!

Actually he just got a new job so we have to update everything anyways so he is going to resend the new updated paperwork via DHL.

I told him I absolutely need a tracking number this time as I go crazy when I don't know where something important is!!!

I am the petitioner.
