Packet 3 Clarification

I am waiting for an interview to be scheduled for my wife and I have heard that there is no Packet 3 for IR1/CR1 cases.

Does this mean that my wife will get Packet 4, get her medical check up, and come to the interview on the date specified?

You will get an email from the NVC giving you the date of your interview. She would print that and take it to the interview along with her passport and medical results and proof of relationship. There is no packet 4.

So what you are saying is that NVC sends out an email with information and not a physical package in the mail?

I called NVC and they told me that an interview date is already set. But NVC has not sent out the package to the Islamabad Embassy. What should I do?

Thank you for posting this thread, cleared things up for me too. I also thought there was a packet that will come from the NVC or the embassy.
