Hello everyone!

We got married on July 23d and I am filing our I-130 tomorrow first thing in the AM. It is crazy to even think we have 3 or even 4 years ahead of us to deal with this process! (( Just SO SO SAD! I am LPR and could apply for citizenship next year ( my 5 year mark is September 2012). The reason I have decided to apply for I-130 right now, is... just in case. It would be crazy to think visa becomes available to LPR's spouse within a year mark, correct? It is still going to take some time before my Naturalization process and citizenship will happen. But what is going to happen then? If I get my citizenship before approval of I-130? My husband lives in Russia. I've gained LPR through my first marriage to the US Citizen, but our marriage was ended due to Domestic Violence and the final date of divorce is January of 2009( separation occurred earlier). We have a shared custody of a child ( US Citizen) where I am a residential parent/guardian of a child. I believe this is enough to prove that my first marriage was entered in good faith and not to stay in the United States, your thoughts? I will be the one traveling to Russia to visit him, so he won't be accused of trying to enter the United States and stay here illegally while my I-130 is pending for him. I really just want to hear there are couples like me, who love each other and have to go through the same process or have been through it and that it is going to be ok. I can not imagine living without my husband for so long. I also have a 5 year old daughter and her dad won't let me go to Russia with her, so it will be long time before she could even meet him. It is just so sad and hard to digest. Why do they need such a long time to process everything? ((( Please someone tell me it is going to be ok! ((

Yes. I actually knew him 12 years ago and was his first love. We kept in touch through Facebook in the last few years but nothing special. When I went to visit my family in Russia for the first time in 9 years we fell in love and were inseparable. ))

It is not uncommon in certain areas for one member of a partnership to marry a USC, get citizenship, divorce and then bring over their real partner.

I moved to the US nine years ago. Do you really think at the age 18 I have decided to have a real partner and wait this long to bring him over here???!!! I have a child with my previous husband and legitimacy of our marriage has been proved. Isn't it uncommon for people to get married, divorce and then find your true love and decide to get married again?! Just the fact that I am LPR and must live in the US so my daughter has a contact with her biological dad bans me from marrying someone I love?! I have American friends who went to our wedding in Russia and witnessed everything and wrote affidavits. We hired a wedding photographer from America since I always dreamed about him photographing my wedding. At the end of the day our love is real and strong and we do not care how long it will take but we want to be together. I can not move back to Russia because of my daughter. So what choice do we have other then file for I 130 and be patient and hopeful?! Are there any people on this board with the situation similar to ours?! I understand you are just trying to be realistic and help, but I do not see why there would be a problem?! My previous marriage ended in a messy divorce involving domestic violence which affected my ex husband a lot, his career and social status. I do not think a person would be trying to do that just so I could get my LPR and bring a guy from Russia I used to know a long time ago as a child. It has been three years since our separation with my previous husband ( when domestic violence report was filed) so it's not like I got divorced and run to Russia and got married. ((( I truly hope you are wrong and we won't have any problems and even if they will call me in for interview or become suspicious I will prove to them our relationship as legit. After all the truth always wins!!!!!

Don't worry, the truth always prevails! Is jist as you say, file your i130 and wait for your pd to become curre, in the meantime you could get your citizenship and speed things up. Good luck!

Does anyone know if while we are waiting getting a visitor visa for my husband is even possible?! Granted they will see our i130 is filed and he won't stay in the US under no circumstance or I130 will be denied and he will be deported. Is it even possible?!

Then you just wait for your pd to become current so the process can start and only during the interview your visa will be approved or denied.
