we took copies of each file we have submitted the i130, i864 and the ds230, we also took about 4 pounds of chats emails letters gift receipts cards and tons of pictures. They didn't much look at the pics but they did need something from one of the files they couldnt find and my husband had it in his so we were good with what they were looking for and that satisfied them then they still asked for another document so we still went on ap to send that document. Took them about 5 weeks or so to review and approve for name checks. Now we sit in name checks since july 25th (dont know when they sent name checks in but that was when the co told us that our case was fine and he was in the last process of the visa)

Good luck to you all... its better to take more than you may need rather than have to submit a document after interview.

Only thing I can tell you is to take EVERYTHING you can think of just in case they ask for it... that way you dont have to wait to submit and then review. Otherwise it will take time to submit adn then review and then hear back.. that will put you in the Admin Review part of AP and then they may take more time to do more processing if thats the case.

I have been seeing more females go thru AP over the last 6 months or so. While we can't avoid it entirely... we can take anything and everything that they may ask for and to prove the relationship.

We did evthing we could as well but unfortunately most men 99% have ap in ISlamabad. We just werent on eof the 1% that didnt. Now we don't know if our ap will take another month or 4 more months. We've already been in ap for 2.5 months. Name checks were to begin sometime after we talked to the CO on july 25th but not sure if they put him in right away or if he was in a waiting list to be added... as of now, DOS has nothing for Washington checks but they said that the embassy could be doing it from their side and would send an email letting us know it ws finished. But we don't really know.

I wish you all much luck in this process..when you get so close to the end and your're still told to wait more its disheartening... our 1st anniversary is almost a month away and its looking more and more like we wont' be together for it. It can break your heart...

I agree with taking everything you can to prove you have an going relationship as well as copies of everything turned into NVC just incase they lost something. I also recommend renewing the police certificate if it's expired to avoid AP. I wish everyone the best of luck!!!

Unfortunately you can't really avoid AP at some consulates. Not sure if Islmabad is one of them but several MENA consulates seem to have an automatic AP even if they intend to approve the Visa. Sucks big time but as others have said, all you can do is make sure your wife has copies of everything. Signed originals of the appropriate forms and an abundance of financial and relationship evidence. You mentioned the 2010 tax transcripts. I don't know about this consulate but in Guangzhou they want three years by default so I would recommend getting the other two years if at all possible. Better to have them and not need them.

good luck.

From what I have seen people who have spouses interviewing in Islamabad post recently, AP appears to be routine there.

YaY!!!

I just got off the phone from NVC and they just told me that my wife's interview is scheduled for October 19.

I am so happy, finally a date has been set.

Now we have to do our homework of collecting all evidences and paperwork for the interview.

Everyone on this thread going to a upcoming interview, please do post the experience.

I hope nobody gets an AP.
