Hi All,

I am a spouse of a LPR. I am currently in the United States in F1 visa. My I-130 immigration petition has been approved and my priority date is April 20, 2011. I received the Notice of Action (I-797) today August 25, 2011. My questions are:

- What is the next step? Do I get some kind of notification from NVC? Is there anything to be done from my side?

- I was going through some discussions in the forum and saw that I might receive NOA2. Is this true?

I truly appreciate your inputs. Thanks!!

the current waiting time until your priority date becomes current is 3 years. to adjust status in the US, your F1 still has to be valid when your PD becomes current.

Thanks Aleful for your reply. So does that mean once I have received the I-130 approval letter, the NVC will mail me a case number of something like that? How long does it take to get a notification from NVC? Thanks in advance!!

yes, but if your f1 is still valid you don't have to go through consular processing.

did you send proof that you were under F1? In that case, I don't know if they will send it to the NVC

yes I sent them the information that I was in valid F1 visa. Does this mean it will not be sent to NVC?

if your status is valid... then the case isnt likely to be sent to the nvc especially if your requested to adjust your status.

Since you are applying Adjustment of status here. You have nothing to with NVC.You just have to WAIT

until your PD becomes current to apply for 1 -485.I confirmend by calling USCIS.

I'm in the same situation as urs,I'm on L1 status in US and plan to apply for AOS when my PD become current and ..

My PD is 18 march 2011 and I-130 approved on 21 July 2011.

PD: March 2011
