Thailand application fee

Hello,

I'm bringing back this thread from July with a quick question. I responded to the original question earlier, but thought this would give it more exposure. The P3 instructions say to send the fee receipt with all the other required documents at the time of the P3 submittal. So if some members are paying right before the interview, I would think it's ok either way? If it's obtained the day, or couple days prior to the interview, just state in packet 3 that the fee receipt will be brought at the time of the interview?

Thank you.

I just looked at the correct packet 3 and it does to mail it in with packet 3. We had sent in a xerox copy of the receipt with packet 3.

Maybe an option is for May to go to a post office when she goes to Bangkok for her police report and medical. I just looked at the Thailand's post office website and it says all post offices in Bangkok you can pay for the fee in any of them. http://www.thailandpost.com/service-detail.php?sid=45&service=174. If you know which hospital you are going to go maybe try and call them and ask where the nearest post office is from them and try and get directions. Or if you will be staying in a hotel in Bangkok ask them where the nearest post office is. Hopefully that is helpful. Good luck.

Yes, it says mail in the original, just as what's required for the DS forms. She'll make copies though just as with everything else.

May's in Bangkok getting her physical and police certificate now. I called last night and spoke with her friend who was with her. May was having her physical at that moment. I'll see if I can let May know what you said. I was going to visit her prior to the interview, but decided to wait to go see her when she has the visa in hand. That would've been a good time to take care of the fee while we were in Bangkok. But now I can visit with her family for a while and bring her back with me:) I'll have her check her local post offices if I can't let her know before she goes back home.

Thank you again!

We wasted a lot of time on this issue. My fiancee live a distant from Bangkok so those post offices didn't know a darn thing about this fee. We went back and forth for awhile.

After comments from others and also I finally emailed the embassy and got confirmation that you can bring the fee receipt to them during the interview.

My fiancee will be paying the fee at the post office across the embassy the day before the interview and taking the receipt to the interview.

Why can't they just state this in Packet 3 instruction?!?! How much confusion and time it could save a whole bunch of people.

Good luck nottoolong!

Thank you kkm. That would be nice if they included this information in the instructions. I should've emailed them as well. Maybe it will be updated with that at some point. Now May has options. We'll see what we do now and what will be easier for her. If she does go right before the interview, I'll make sure she goes the day before.

Thanks again!
