Due to the limited capacity of space in Kingston, we were unable to schedule you for October. Furthermore, we just finished with scheduling for October and all October dates are now fully booked.

It's cool. I am hoping for November then.

All the best October folks. :)

Sep 15: MEDICAL exam completed in Stockholm. All paperwork is done.

I called NVC to see if there are open spots earlier than Oct 31. Stockholm is NOT a high-volume embassy (around 250 per year).

me: “Beneficiary completed his medical today and is ready for his interview. Can we try to get an earlier date than October 31?”

phone rep: “To ask for an earlier interview date, wait until the case is received at the embassy. Then contact the embassy.”

me: “When will that be?”

phone rep: “It has not been mailed yet, and we have no time frames for that.”

me: “How will I know when the case is mailed to the embassy?”

phone rep: “Keep calling.”

:bonk:

I know how you feel. We also got a date that seemed strangely late for a low volume embassy.

Am I the only one with an interview date (found out Sept 13) who has been told the packet is not yet sent to embassy?

I am beginning to wonder if the phone reps even have a clue about that... I don't want a repeat of the "sit in the mailroom for 3 weeks" routine. I can also still sign into the payment portal - no SIF. I see DHL packet the day after they told me the interview date, but phone reps insist the packet is not mailed. Yes, we are grateful for Oct date, but...we're trying to ask embassy for an earlier date (low volume embassy) and they need it in-hand.

Anyone ever actually call the emabssy to see if the packet arrived?

Is email better?

Hi A&M: I called the NVC just for you (since we got the appointment same day as you, I hadn't bothered). They tell me the date of the appointment and that the package is forwarded. What do they say for you?

I guess if you have the appointment letter and a copy of all the documents, it shouldn't matter?

I hear your frustration though.

NVC says it is not mailed, and "it could take another week to mail it." Nice phone rep tonight. He talked with Supervisor who said a specific Supervisor needs to be notified, and that she might get something moving along... we'll see. They also told me to send an email. I made sure to put "DO NO RE-OPEN CASE! in the subject line :) oh that would be just heartbreaking... don't even think it.

Good luck! I really hope it works out. I wish we could try the same but the date we got worked out pretty well because I will be there during that time so I can participate in the interview too. Plus, my husband has to be there until at least a week after the interview, so...

I hope we all get the visas!!!
