The time has finally come to send in the I-134 paperwork and I am pulling together documentation. I am self-employed and my income level is above the 125% poverty guidelines but not by much. I am listing my home with the most recent tax assessment as what it is worth (I can provide the tax assessment documentation as proof). Do I need to get anything from the bank to show how much I owe on my current mortgage? Thank you!

Actually to have the value of your home considered you need to supply a recent valuation done by a licensed appraiser along with documentation of the current mortgage balance. Tax valuation/assessment will not be acceptable.

The I-134 instructions are rather thin on this point. Refer to the I-864 instructions and guidelines for help.

Re: your income, the amount shown on line 22 of your most recent (2010) 1040 tax return is the income amount considered.
