Hi everyone,

I am a foreigner, staying in the US and just got married to a husband who is an USC. My husband had two children from his previous marriage and they are not living with him. We want to ask whether the two children will be included in his household size. We know that the income requirement has to be 125% of the standard income to support the household size. We don't know how to decide the household size in our situation. We will strongly appreciate anyone who can help us. Thank you very much.

Please read the I-864 form instructions. they explain household size quite well: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

If the children are under 21 then he must claim them as part of his household size, doesn't matter where they live. That makes it a 4 person household (you, husband and 2 kids) and an income requirement of $27,937. (here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf )
