No I'm planning right now. I will meet him through tourist visa soon but right now he and I are trying to figure out all the options we both have right now. The options that I have are K-1 and Employment. I'm trying to seek out as many options as I can so I feel a little bit more confident.

Oh, so you are going to meet him for the first time? If so, well take your time then, see if things will work out, then you can choose the best option. I personally have nothing to complain about the K1 visa, for us has been very good even with all the wait, you still have time to choose though. Good luck, again.

Your friend, being from Korea, may have gotten a refugee greencard for religious prosecution.

Religious workers visas are for religious workers. Unless you have been working for your church for some time, you will not get one.

There has never been religious persecution in Korea; at least not the Korea we're talking about.

Actually I don't think K1 Visa is correct either. You state that you are looking for a visa to go be with your boyfriend in US. Searching for all these Visas make people feel like what you really want is to just get to the US, boyfriend or not. I actually believe there is a boyfriend, afterall why shouldn't we believe it. The issue is you just said you are looking for a visa to move to the US and be with your boyfriend. Is that what you want? A K-1 visa is for someone who is ready to marry, and be with their lover... no questions asked. I.e. If you apply for a K-1 and get denied is your boyfriend going to move to Australia to marry and spend his life there with you? If the answer to that is, no... then I have doubts the K-1 is the right visa.

A Religious visa isn't the correct visa either, if your intention is to marry your boyfriend.

An employment visa isn't the correct visa either, if your intention is to marry your boyfriend.

You have to make a decision... is your intention to marry your boyfriend? If so, than K-1 or CR1 is the only correct choice.

If you come on any other visa with the preconcieved idea of marrying your boyfriend in the future than I think that would be visa fraud.

Regardless, I've already stated my thoughts previously about him being too young (18 years old), no income, you guys have never met, etc.

Good luck

Yes I'm looking at the K-1 too. According to my knowledge, I don't think it's against the law or anything to try other ways if a visa gets denied?

@Harpa Timsah, Is working for the church related to that? Such as making food and helping the church without profit.

No helping in church making food or cleaning church is not considered as religous worker.

To qualify for R1 you have to be a minister or priest who performs religious activities.

What your friend told you is half baked story, what they must have done is entered US on R1 and then applied for GC, it was much shorter and quicker path.

From R1 to GC was much quicker than from H1 to GC, I am not sure if that is still valid.

Just being a christian does not qualify you to be religious worker - just use some common sense if that was the case half of the world would qualify for R1 as most ppl are affiliated to some or other religion in one or other way.

MedTech - PPL are getting annoyed with you coz you are going in all tangents and it seems like you are trying to enter US just one or otherway. There is no harm in exploring all opportunity but ur posts just seem like how do I get K1 .... then oops cant get that how do I get H1..... oops might not work can I apply for R1. Do u see the pattern?

Investor's visa EB-5 -- but that needs $500 000 minimum investment plus employing a number of US workers...

After reading all of your content, I have some questions that keeps repeating on my mind...

- Do you even have a tourist visa yet?

- Have you decided on which type of visa are you sticking to? You went through tourist, to lotery, to work, to even religious... and ALL of your posts you wanna know about the Green Card. I am not making assumptions, I'm just putting 2+2 together, and it's kinda weird that all of your questions leads to it.

- why is it so important? Shouldn't you be concerned about making your relationship work at first and make his family accept the age difference between you and him? And last but not least, is he concerned about the same things as you?

....For the posts above, my bet would be 2 letters. G & C.

She doesn't even need a tourist visa. Isn't she is from Australia, and can come visit her boyfriend through the VWP?

I think you guys, need to meet and then see where the relationship goes and then decide do I love him or not. Then decide on K1 or C1 or ... The other thing you guys can do, is leave it in G_ds hand (as G_d would say "piss or get off the pot") . If he wants you to get married and you both a zealous about it then get married.

Just applying for a K1, puts your love through the test. You spend a lot of money and a lot of time getting preparing and waiting for it.

Plus I think that there are other countries that needs G_ds work more then the US. If you wish to apply for a religious work consider Souther Sudan or another thrid world country.

The only reason I can think of for not being overly interested in the K1 process if that they don't qualify, Either the bf is an LPR and can't K1 ( and a CR1 would take years ) or they are a same sex couple and can't K1

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
