Extending expiration date

Hi,

The I-797 (NOA2) says my girlfriend case is valid from 6/13/2011 to 10/13/2011. But she may need to postpond the interview until November. Does 10/13/2011 mean the expiration date? She has actually received the package sent by the consulate in Guangzhou China, but she wants to wait for a while. What should we do to avoid the process getting expired?

Thanks

7/31/2004 sent I-129F package to Vermont

8/3/2004 NOA1

8/23/2004 ONLINE APPROVED!!!!

8/24/2004 VSC sent package to NVC

8/30/2004 NVC received package

10/5/2004 NVC told me case has been forwarded via email

10/26/2004 Received package 3

11/8/2004 sent back pk 3

Things went beyond expectations. K1 was granted in 2005, but relationship failed.

Yeah 10/13 would be the expiration date. Did she receive package 3 or 4?

If it expires before the embassy processes the paperwork they will extend it. However if they have done everything they need to do I'm not sure if they will automatically extend it. You may want to email them and explain your situation. They seem to be very good about responding to emails.

Ours expired yesterday and her interview isn't until next week, I called DOS and emailed the embassy a few weeks ago and they said not to worry about it.

Teh NOA2 dates are really essentially meainingless once the Embassy has the petition; they automatically seize control and dictate timing. This is not a concern. Ask for an interiew date later than scheduled if needed....we did and was not an issue.

It's an on line email form. I usually get a response from them overnight.

That first link might not be working. Try this one.
