Personally, I resent the ongoing prescence of Viking descendants in North Yorkshire

They can be easily identified by their red hair and freckles and violent tendencies

I am sure Denmark/Norway/Sweden could be pursuaded to take them back

They have no place in our tribe which is descended from purebred Friesian/norman/brittanic/welsh/saxon tribes

It's not missing, Danno. That Cherokees had African slaves and that they incorporated them into their nation via treaty in 1866 is an historical fact. In 2006, the Cherokee Supreme Court upheld their claims to citizenship. Now, they want to limit citizenship to blood quantum, which will actually shrink their enrollment.

I'm curious though, the plaintiff quoted in the article is named Marilyn Vann. Vann is a very well known Cherokee family name, so it probable that she is at least part Cherokee by blood.

Membership in the Cherokee nation is open to anyone with an ancestor on the Dawes rolls, which were compiled between 1899-1906. Purging Freedman off the roll would eliminate many thousands who have had special relationship with the federal government all their lives.

It's been a while, but when we were living in South America, my husband and I both agreed that the men we saw were better looking than the women.

Now, I'm sure that all the Brazilian wives on VJ are the creme de la creme of all the beautiful women in the world, hands down. Just sayin'
