I'm just stating that "IF" he were to win the Republican Convention he would beat Obama. I do not think he would win the Republican Convention, but if he did win it you have to consider "how" did he win. After considering "how" he pulled it off there is no doubt he would beat Obama in a landslide.

How would he beat Perry, Romney, Bachmann, etc? It would have to be all the independents vote for him, if many people who typically would consider themself a democrat, such as myself... I guess, vote for him, and enough on the fence republicans were to vote for him that he actually won then look at what that means for the Presidential election. Who would all the hardcore Republicans vote for? At the end of the day the core Republican given the choice between Obama and Paul would either not vote or vote for Paul simply because of what Paul would do for taxes.

Like I said, I don't think he has any shot at the RNC, but if he were to be the Republican nominee, he would beat Obama in a landslide.

He is entirely unelectable. He wants to legalize cocaine and heroin. Who's gonna vote for something so sensible in America?

Palin won't run, I agree with LI and nane on this and for the same reasons. Besides, she can't take her eyes off the Russians.

I share in her handicap. :D

And the money I could have saved if I could see russia from my front porch :crying:

I'm just stating that "IF" he were to win the Republican Convention he would beat Obama.

Paul has less backing from his fellow Republicans than Obama does from his fellow Democrats. There are more registered Democrat voters than there are registered Republican voters. Paul wants to rid the nation of Social Security and Medicare. That's an unpopular position from the left to the right - all the way to the Tea Party freaks. Given that he can't garner support in his own party and given that he is running on something so unpopular with the entire electorate, how would he pull off that victory?

I like Paul's positions on national security and defense. I like his common sense stance on the "war on drugs" - it needs to end. I like him for being principled, for not bending every thime the wind changes. But I could not vote for him because his economic and social agenda scare the ####### out of me. I don't want to live in a 19th century America. I want to live in a 21st century America. And Ron Paul doesn't want to move forward.

As for Palin getting into the race:

If I knew how to do a poll I might have but this is your chance to "go on the record".

I vote NO.

I think she if she really wanted to be a serious contender she would have went for a seat in the house or Senate first..... not at FOX.

No just stir the pot.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

After the 2008 election, Palin had her window to polish her resume and prove that she wasn't the 70 IQ moron that most seem to think she is. She had a few speaking engagements, and while not thoroughly embarassing herself like during the 08 election, she did not impress anyone. She is an ignorant idealogue who nobody takes seriously. At least Michelle Bachmann has a degree and a law degree, even if it it's from Oral Roberts University.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You are saying Ron Paul would have no chance to win his party. I agreed with that, lol. My argument was that if he did win, he would landslide Obama. In fact your statements prove my point. In order for him to win the Republican nomination A LOT of registered democrats would have to register as Republicans... which a lot of us are doing. It would take soooo many of us to do it for him to win. If a miracle happened and so many democrats did register as republicans because they like Paul then I assume they will vote for him against Obama as well. Ultimately if it is Obama vs Paul... Paul must have taken close to 30-40% of Obama's crowd simply to win the Republican primaries. So in the general election he would have30-40% the democrats, all the independents, and (how many Republicans)? If only given a choice between Obama and Paul, I think the entire Republican base takes Paul simply based on taxes.

You will argue, why would democrats register as republicans? Because there are people such as I whose #1 issue is get the heck out of other countries, I.e. no more wars and whose #2 issue is taxes. I rarely vote. Why, because the only 2 things I "really" care about are war and taxes. Nothing else "really" matters to me.

Social security, medicare, abortion, etc... nonsense. Those are not issues people should even be concerned about IMO. I actually think people will be concerned about the war on drugs and status of illegals etc, which Paul would take Obama to the cleaners as well. I personally don't agree with Paul's views on illegals, but hey at least there is a candidate that has my main two issues at heart. If it were Paul vs Obama the only thing Paul has to do is mention ... Weren't we going to get out of these countries, and didn't you promise no increase in taxes, and what in the world are you doing backing up all these illegal aliens? lol I can't wait till we see political ads daily about all of Obama's broken promises. The guy is truly worthless as a leader, though McCain would have made a bad president IMO as well. The only positive I have seen out of Obama is he is still pushing for illegals, which he promised. I love it, illegals love it, but ultimately I think it will absolutely destroy his popularity as we get close to election time as there are sooooo many people blaming illegals for all the US's problems.
