I guess I need to start a topic on Canadian Women,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Oct - Filed N-400 for Naturalization

Nov - Biometrics done

Nov - Just recieved Naturalization Interview date for Jan.

2007

Jan - Naturalization Interview Completed

Feb 21 - Finally a US CITIZEN (yay)

After a litle more thought - I must have been living in the right spot - most guys I know are just like my dad and brothers.... slightly citified (although not too Metrosexual or Torontonian)...and there's nothing wrong with 'Torontonian'....it's just a thing. Some are more blue collar, some not. Back in the 80's far too many boys wore lumberjack shirts and wore work boots - but that was a fad :P

Anyhoo - can't complain too much - I ended up dating men from Nigeria, Jamaica, Barbados, multiple Canadians, and 1 'Saskatchewanian' :D

I'm going to print out your post and frame it -maybe pass it around work.. I think this may be the first time I've read anything positive in a generalized statement about American men - thank you :blush:

Unfortunately I now have to defend the Canadian men.. When I travel I usually go with a small group of Canadians, I have found them to be the most enjoyable people to be around - hard to describe the personality traits I have seen maybe "confidence without the arrogance" if that makes sense? A Canadian also introduced me to my wife: "hey! look over there.. that girl. she is checking you out! well maybe not... lets go bug her anyway! I heard two guys talking over there say she was from South America or something... where are you going? hey! hey! Stop being a p###y and grab your drink and lets go talk to her eh?".

Didn't say they weren't enjoyable. And you're welcome! It's such a relief to hug someone who doesn't smell like a wood mill!

Canadians are so kind... Lumberjacks are some of the kindest people you'll find... just not my style yo.

I don't know where you guys got your Canadian men! My husband AND his group of friends were all intelligent, geeky guys who also happened to be very polite. (My family still remarks on how polite my husband is.) He can grow a pretty awesome beard when he wants to, but he also shaves when I ask.

But I don't really have any experience with American men to compare to. We met as young teenagers and have been pretty much exclusive ever since.

hahahaha Oh Nev, you are hilarious.

Don't have much experience with those brawny type men myself, as most of my boyfriends in Canada were very punk-rock.

That is, when I wasn't looking for British men...(oohhh the accent...the ACCENT!!!) :blush:
