You know the ones who say they couldn't find a good woman in America?

Because when it comes to Canadian men? It's hard. Couldn't find one who wasn't a lumberjack, who didn't have a beard and have a closet full of plaid bush coats.

Do you ever notice much Canadian men just let themselves go? I mean would it kill to them to shave!? Would it!?

People often ask me why I came to America to find a husband. They just don't understand what we had to deal with in terms of men back home. If you had a choice between Brad Pitt and the Brawny man who would you pick? I am sure some women appreciate a man with soda crackers from last weeks lunch lingering in his beard but I like a clean man - with a bit of a rustic twaaaang...or in my case a bit of a Philly accent (PS: yes they have an accent).

Most of all I just like a man who doesn't shout "timber" in bed when...... it's all over.

Don't act like you don't know what I am talking about ladies.

I'm sorry to say I don't know what you're talking about... my fiance being an American was a happy accident, but I've encountered lots of very nice (in looks and personality) Canadian men. :)

Edit:  Shouting timber in bed? Lumberjack roleplaying? Oh gee whiz...

You really needed to get out more when you were still in Canada, Sprailenes :D!

Come to think of it, I didn't get involved with a lot of Canadian men . . . I had serious relationships with several Brits, a South African, several Americans, a German, an Austrian, a Scots . . . but there were a few Canadians in that list too, hehehe - no lumberjacks, though.

I'm going to print out your post and frame it -maybe pass it around work.. I think this may be the first time I've read anything positive in a generalized statement about American men - thank you

Unfortunately I now have to defend the Canadian men.. When I travel I usually go with a small group of Canadians, I have found them to be the most enjoyable people to be around - hard to describe the personality traits I have seen maybe "confidence without the arrogance" if that makes sense? A Canadian also introduced me to my wife: "hey! look over there.. that girl. she is checking you out! well maybe not... lets go bug her anyway! I heard two guys talking over there say she was from South America or something... where are you going? hey! hey! Stop being a p###y and grab your drink and lets go talk to her eh?".

My ex didn't have the beard et al, but loved the lumberjack lifestyle. That is all that he wanted to do on the weekends was go in the bush and cut wood and stuff like that. I on the other hand liked being social and doing a variety of things. It was a bit part of our downfall.

I tried dating a lot of Canadian guys, but never met one who enjoyed the same things I did and had the same goals in life. I really didn't have anything other than a job and house holding me to Canada, so I decided to broaden my horizons, and luckily met Hubby!!
