Hi All!

I would like to know why we were put on AP. My Fiance's interview went well with no problems. I hope everyone who is on AP can write about their experiences so we can find out why we were put on AP.

My fiance is moroccan, his name is Youssef 33yrs old. His interviewed lasted 20 mins back June 30, 2011. Everything went well on his interview, he answered all the questions and the CO said everything is good you will have no problem. The CO didn't even wanted to see more supporting evidence of our relationship he said it wasn't necessay. He checked the computer asked him some questions then he told my fiance to go have a sit in the waiting room that he will be called again. He was called again and the CO checked the computer once again then he wrote on a small GREEN piece of paper and put it in between my fiance's passport then he said you will be put on AP. My fiance didn't know this will take long so he never asked why or nothing. Since then we haven't hard anything. We have emailed the consulate but all they say is that our case is still pending AP.

I really hope this AP doesn't last longer than 60 days :crying: . I will not stop bothering the consulate untill they process our case.

welcome to the world of AP... it seems a lot of ppl men especially from MENA get ap..no known reasons but extra security checks... we are right there with you... we interviewed june 15th and still waiting for my husbands visa... no time frame can be predicted unfortunately

dos told us today that the embassy hasnt updated since name checks began so its very possible they are doing it from embassy side and they will email us or contact us to pick up visa when its finished

I also think we will probably go thru more checks due to him being from pakistan and the fact we applied cr1

Good luck to you...praying we all see the end of ap soon!!!

I think it's normal. Don't worry. It will end! I wish you a short AP!

I think they said it can be 90 days, because I got an email from them when I requested a delay for our interview and they stated that AP can last 90 days.

For your info, this is what their email said:

The State Department's goal is visa delivery no more than 30 days from the time of application in most cases, although cases that require administrative processing could take longer. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Therefore, before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later.

We will contact you as soon as we can continue with your case.

Well, I guess you just wait. After I sent an email there concerning our interview, I got a message back, and then my fiance got his interview date. So, you never know what's happening as we speak.
