I say we should remove all US forces from the ME immediately. Remove all diplomatic peoples - everyone. Stop selling anything to the ME. Stop buying ANYthing from the ME. Yes, that includes oil. We'll manage to survive somehow. Send no more aid of any kind to the ME. Just let them live in their own little world. We'll spend our time trying to repair our relations with Europe, Canada, and all other non-ME countries that we've alienated under The Shrub's reign.

Unfortunately there's one thing stopping us from doing this and this is the presence of US companies in the middle east, mainly oil companies, but also others. Do we force them to pull out to? What about non-US companies in the middle east that do business there and the US, e.g. BP, do we ban them because of their involvement in the middle east.

What you are suggesting is a nice idea, the US could survive without mideast oil easily, most of its oil comes from Canada and Venezuela, but in practice its just not possible for us not to be there.

Likewise, so why don't we see the condemnations coming from them, saying not in my name or something, surely something like that would help ease matters if it was shown that many, many muslims, probably the vast majority of them worldwide, do not feel like this.

This one is beyond belief and I wish I could link to it but I am not very good at that so in a nutshell here goes:

UK: a man was taken into custody and spent two days in the cells for - wait for it----

Revving a car in a racist manner at a muslim couple, this was somewhere in Scotland and apparently the muslim couples say they were scared and imtimidated. And it was a police woman who reported this guy. How on earth do you rev your car in a racist manner???????

Now if there is racism in this world I for one hate it, but for goodness sake this is getting ridiculous.

You got that right. The more the US donates to the middle east the more they turn around and condemn the entire country to death. Ties should be completely cut and borders should be closed to this region. Only once they prove they can live in peace with us should we being interaction with this region again..Everyone wins.

Can't do that unfortunately; our economy is too dependent on middle eastern oil. Oops! Guess those SUVs weren't such a great idea after all!
