Hi,

Here is my question. I called the Department of State this morning to find out that my husbands interview is scheduled for this friday the 26th. (expedited case). The embassy mailed his appt letter on the 22nd, so it is unlikely to reach him before he has to leave for London. I called the DoS back to see if they could send us something, they said no. And the embassy call center claimed to have no case for my husband (#######?). What will happen Friday, will he still be admitted to the embassy for his interview even if he doesn't have the letter?

They do ask to see your interview letter before they let you through the doors, but your husband cant be the first victim of a lost letter. If you have paid the MRV fee that might be enough. It might arrive by the 26th, postage is quick in the UK (small country).

I have learned over the years to have little faith in the Royal Mail. I'm still waiting on last years birthday card that never arrived. Hopefully it will arrive. Unsure what the MRV fee is, is that a K1 specific thing? We paid some fees at the NVC phase, but nothing other than the medical since.

Hi

I also did not receive my letter for an interview and had no trouble at all in getting through security. I did have several sleepless nights worrying about it - but honestly dont worry.

They just ask for your proof of ID and what time you are scheduled for an interview for and what type of interview so they can find you on their list.

I second the statement that they have a list at the front of the line. No worries. I remember others with the same problem. A few in the spring of this year got their letter postage due after the fact.

A couple of times people have been told "oh we can't find you on the list" but it's because they were looking at the wrong list ;) And then found the name when they looked at the correct list. So tell your husband he can definitely get in.

The MRV fee is what you pay for the visa processing, not sure if its only for K1 or for CR1 too. I had to pay $350 for the fee and the print-out receipt said MUST BE SHOWN TO BE ALLOWED ENTRY TO EMBASSY blah blah.

Sounds like there won't be a problem getting in though. And theres always a chance the letter will come by then.

Good luck!
