Hello all,

I am new to the forum here. I must say what a great group of supportive and knowledgeable people are here!

I am hoping someone can help me with this question. I apologize if the information is posted elsewhere...

At point point in the petition process does the request for the Affidavit of Support come from either the service center or NVC? Before the NOA2, or after?

Thanks for your help!!!!

It comes after the NOA2. It will be sent to the beneficiary from the home consulate. You can start gathering any documents needed now (i.e. tax papers etc) but it's not needed until asked for.

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 20 - N-400 receipt date for my father
2021
Apr 21 - Biometrics appt.

2022
May 2 - Interview

May 20 - Naturalization ceremony

You will have to download the Affidavit of Support, it will not be sent to the benifficiary in packet 3 but will be requested at the time of interview at the consulate.

The form you will need to fill out is I-134, and provide supporting documents, like Tax return, Pay stubs, letter from employer. Read carefully the instructions included with the I-134 especially part II http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-134.pdf

There are examples of the various forms needed, and letters like cover letter, and notice of intent. Also the assembly tips are very useful.
