Have any of you guys received packet 3 or 4 yet?

You wont get a packet 3 that's for K1 visas. The packet 4 is your interview letter. I received mine probably a week ago at least.

Payment slip for £65 for visa processing

Didn't get the medical questionnaire in it. Had to DL it.

I havent received anything in the post throughout the whole NVC process.

emails say correct address.

I don't recall seeing a £65 fee mentioned anywhere, but I could have missed it. Can't see it mentioned on the London Embassy site? Has anyone got a link to document that advises applicants about this?

I didn't see anything on our letter that said 65 pounds. The only thing you should have to pay for at the embassy is the courier fee. I will look over our information again today to see if I missed it but I don't know of any other fee. That seems strange to me.

Thomas I've read over that pdf email for packet 4 at least 3 times now and I don't see any reference to 65 pounds. Where exactly are you see that?

Still waiting for our interview date- although we've had a bizarre twist by having our case expedited. We had just finished with NVC, but instead of them scheduling interview date, our file was sent direct to Embassy. We now won't get an interview date assigned until after I've had the medical (we'd have had the interview date already if we didn't expedite), HOWEVER, we are assuming that once I've had the medical they will give me priority treatment and a very quick interview date.

I'd already booked my medical for 28 Sep (long before we got an expedite), but now, since it's effectively us holding things up, I've brought my medical forward to 14 Sep. After that, like I said above, I hope they've give us an interview date very quickly, but who knows. Anything before mid-late Oct should be quicker than we'd have had by not expediting.

Got an Interview date of October 31, however, trying to call in and see if I can get an earlier date. Embassy won't say anything until they receive file from NVC. Does anyone else know if their file has been sent from NVC to the embassy ?

My impression of the process is that you'll have no chance of getting an earlier interview date without very (medical/family emergency) good reason.

Has anyone ever just called and asked for an earlier date than scheduled, and actually got one?

Just had my medical, and the woman confirmed that it will "help your visa paperwork along faster if the consulate has recieved your medical papers".

I agree- I've heard that too, however, the poster above you had a medical 2 months ago and it doesn't seem to have given them a date any earlier than others who have also got similar dates, but still not had a medical. Definitely best to get a medical ASAP though- it could make things a bit quicker if you're lucky.

I know with people have requested earlier and received earlier but only by about a week. It wasn't early enough to bother with the request. We figure if we've waited this long what's a week

Totally true. I think the only benefit of the early medical is that it gives my bank balance a chance to breathe.
