ARG! The confusion....WTF is going on?

Now I'm throughly confused. Last week's operator at DOS said it was in London and undergoing further background checks. Then, over the weekend, I got an email from London saying that they have no record of the receipt and I need to contact NVC for further instructions. I called NVC and they say it was sent and everything is in order. This morning's operator at DOS says London has not received it. Are they just trying to drive me mad?

Maybe someone going through London more recently than we did can give you a better idea of how soon the petitions are logged into the consulate system BUT....

I can tell you that typically it does take some time. If I'm reading your timeline correctly it looks like it has been about 3 weeks since NVC sent it out?

In the past this would not be an inordinate delay. It seems it takes a while for them to get the files from the mailroom and into data entry.

Oh...those operators on the phones don't know squat. They aren't even located at the embassy. They are in Glasgow and can only read what is on screens.

Sometimes I do wonder about that place...

I emailed London and asked if they had received my petition and they said that they had no record of it, but I got packet three the next day, so they obviously did! I also emailed on friday asking if they had received my packet three reply, and I've just this second got an email saying no, but my royal mail tracking tells me it got there at 7.30am on friday!

I think that there may be some lack of communication in that place ocasionally... Don't panic!

Nina, I know what you mean. When my hubby sent his K3 pkt. 3 back, he sent it next day on 8/25 and Royal Mail said they delivered on the 27th. However, the embassy claimed not to have it until 9/8 and we have heard nothing further. It's fine because we want to go ahead with the CR-1..but..sheesh! I think you are right about the lack o' communication!!

I'm panicking about a lost package already, and it's only been a couple of days! This process has made me become slightly more paranoid I'm sure...

Oh well, something new to panic about in a couple of weeks - have the medical!

My husband nearly gave himself and ulcer worrying about the medical. In fact, he arrived 2 hours early just to make sure he found it okay..lol. But, once he got there, he said it was the easiest exam he's ever had. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry yourself too much! You are going to do great!
