So my interview was today, here are the highlights:

Appointment was at 10 am, could only get there early as a friend dropped me off who was working, got there at 815, went up to the building and there were 3 signs with times on them, 8:30 , 9:00 and 9:30, I went up to a lady that looked like she worked there and asked where the 10:00 appointments can line up, she said just to line up in the 9:30 line. Stood there for a few mins, after a while a diff lady came by and said 9:30? I said no 10, she says " ok well theres no line right now so Ill let you go now" I she takes me up to another lady that checking passports and DS-160 forms, she checks off my name on her sheet and says im really early, I explain I couldn't get there right at 10. She asks me if I have any electronics, alcohol, gel or close envelopes etc etc. I said I have a closed envelop from my medical, she grabs it and says o ya K1 wait here, she takes it inside with my passport and I am told to go back in the 9:30 line again. A few mins go by and she comes out and says ya your fine go line up in the 8:30 line, by this time there are quite a few ppl starting to line up, I was 3rd in the 8:30 line now. We were lined up against the building, they called us in 1 at a time, they called me in took my passport, emptied my pockets etc to go threw the x ray, once again the closed envelop puzzled them, they didnt put it threw the x ray machine and called someone down to escort me up stairs. He took the envelop and my passport and entered it into his computer?? He then took me to the 20th floor and told me to go to window B. Went to window B the guy was very laid back, asked me what do I have for him, I gave him my folder and he said " oh K1 your early" he went threw my folder took my passport pics, 156,I 134 2010 tax return W2 copy of fiancee's passport picture page and my birth certif told me to take a seat. sat there for I duno how long as ppl kept coming in and getting called up for th eir interview I could hear everything, waiting room is brutal, set up like a casino, no clocks no windows or anything to let you know what time it is or what time of day. Prob an hr later called up to window B again to get a number, he said it would probably b half an hr till my number gets called. Prob 20 mins later number got called, went up and the guy told me right away that I was early and this was the first time he had done a K1 so he wasn't sure on everything. Made me take finger prints first, then asked me what I did, how we met, have I met her fam has she met mine, What do I think of my future mother in law, made me take an oath, during the oath he said who are you marrying again? SAid fiancees name, asked me what she did, asked me her name again, then asked his counter part to come over and check his work. Once that was done he said go back to the room they will call you again, went back and sat down, 10 mins later got called said I was approved. Only thing Im kicking myself about is not asking how long it will take to get my passport back??? Anyone with some info on vancouver?

Anyways hope this helps someone.

I had my interview on July 22nd, and got my passport back on August 2nd. With my interview being on a Friday, and a stat holiday in between + weekend x2, mine took a bit longer to get back I think. It was only going to Richmond too which made the wait even worse :) Congratulations on your interview though!

I had my interviw on July 28, 2011 and my passport and package for POE were ready on Aug 4. There was also a stat holiday in there. So it really does not take very long.
