Help with Unique Situation - G325A

Hi everyone,

I've been using VJ for months in preparation for filing the initial I-130 for my husband. This is such a wonderful community and I'm so lucky I was referred to this site!

We are preparing our I-130 packet and need help with my husband's G-325A (the address question). We have a unique situation. My husband plays professional basketball overseas and is always traveling. For the last four years since he graduated from college, he plays for 5-6 months at a time in a different country. He went to college for 2 years in NY (would this be considered a residence too?) His permanent address I guess is still in his hometown in Trinidad at his parent's house, although he is rarely there. For example, last year he left for Argentina in October and stayed there playing on the team until March. Then he went to Trinidad to visit his parents for a couple months, then came back to the US on his visitors visa to visit me for a couple months. Then in August he left for Chile and stayed until December, came back to visit me until February then went home until May and then came back to visit and is about to leave again for Argentina. Are these considered residences, or is it really just his residence in Trinidad? I figure I should put them down because they should probably match up with the next question on the G325A form, which is employment.

Help! Any insight is so appreciated.

Regards,

Lauren

Yes, put every location. I would make a separate sheet with a detailed timeline. If he spent more than 6 months in other countries, then he will need police certificates from each of them. Good luck.

Right, thank you so much!

G325A requires the last 5 years of residence details - no gap is allowed.

DS-230, whihc you will file after I-130 is approved requires all the places he reside from the age of 16 years till now, where he stayed for 6 months or more.

Since G325A and DS-230 needs to in sync, it may be good include the places he stayed more than 6 months only in G325A but see that there are no gaps. A stay less than 6 months is really counted for residence. Also you may land up producing PCC from all those countries (US not required).

Check both these forms before finalizing your G325A.
