Regarding EAD: I've been stalking everyone's signatures in earlier filer threads and what I'm seeing is people are getting notified of their EAD approval approximately 60 days after their NOA received dates. And then they end up getting their physical card about 7-10 days after that. So even with quick interview dates, they're probably getting their EAD cards a day or so before or after their initial interview dates.

also did some googling about multiple notices and cancellations: A lot of people are advising that people go to their original interview dates because even though you get a hard copy from a centralized office, supposedly the local IO's arent aware and mark them down as no-shows. Its really frustrating and I'd like to believe in the system but here's a couple links and let you decide on your own. I'm definitely going to go to the 11/14 one and possibly the 11/29 one if the IO tells me I should. But now I'm thinking about going to the 11/10 one too. Although seeing as I actually got a reschedule from 11/10 to 11/14 directly addressed from the JAX office, the IO's there SHOULD be well aware of the change.

What do you think Patv?

Thanks for sharing this links. In my opinion i think i'll just go to the Nov.14 schedule since we got the letter of cancellation of our interview and got a new date directly from the jacksonville office. Reading this links they just got the letter of cancellation of their interview and never receive another date yet that's why probably they think at that time it's better to show up to the cancelled date. It's just my opinion. like what i said your lucky coz jacksonville office is not that far from you.

WooooHooooo!

AOS complete!. Had the interview today and got approved. Nothing more to do for 2 years.

The whole interview lasted about 30 min. They had everything we had submitted since the I-129F petition. Our file was assembled in the worng order by their processing office, but we had copies in the correct order for our own reference. The questions were simple, mostly verifying that our information was correct. The adjudicator looked through our wedding photos, and vacacion photos, and closely at our bank records and medical & dental insurance. Everything was good and she gave us the letter confirming my wife's legal permanent residend status. We should get the green card in about 2 weeks.

FYI for all of the people worried about EAD cards. Her EAD card arrived this past Saturday and we had to turn it in to the adjudicator at the interview. So she had the EAD card for a total of about 4 days.

No RFE's through the whole process from I-129F to green card.

Congrats on the interview, I have seen people on here get an interview before the EAD. It happen :) Not sure who told you that you need an EAD to get a SSN but that is not true at all. You can get a SSN about 10 days after entry to the US. My husband did and he only just got his EAD email last week but he has had his card since shortly after his POE. Top of the SSN card says "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" so people know he needs an EAD to work.

-Genee

Thank you for your input.

My case is different. I came here on B2 status. I am not sure if I could get one as my status is a visitor.

My hubby called the BECU bank 4 weeks ago and he asked if he could add me to his accounts, they said they require the SSN. We were hoping to get it first before the interview notice so we can arrange more documents and be more prepared for the interview.

We filed early august, but have not seen any movement on our EAD. We did receive an RFE for some documents not filled out properly or lacking. We sent that stuff in pretty rapidly and now our AOS status says RFE evaluation or whatever the official title is.

What are the experiences of other august filers with regards to getting your EAD? I seem to remember reading that AOS now only takes about 2-3 months total, which made it easy to understand they were not doing anything with our EAD (AOS would be completed within same time frame so why treat both cases).

Is my 2-3 month expectancy for AOS correct? If not, I would hope to receive my EAD soon because it is obviously not ideal to survive financially with no income from my part.

Hi RedBluff, thought I should answer your question since no one else has. I filed my docs mid-August and only now just got my EAD card. I think it varies depending on your situation--for me, I'd been stalking another forum for August 2011 filers as well and was freaking out when a couple who'd gotten their biometrics appointment the same day as me got their approval notice, like 3 weeks before I got mine. I then noticed though, that they had an RFE and had in actual fact filed way earlier than I did, so I bit my lip and waited it out. It might be helpful to post your timeline so we could get a clearer idea of exactly how long you've waited.

By the way, so I got the approval e-mail and got another update that the approval letter was sent--I got a fantastic surprise though, when I checked the mail and the actual card was in the envelope rather than just the notice! From what I've read on forums, it seems I've somehow bypassed the "Card Production Ordered" stage. Did this happen to anyone else?

I just got the TXT/Email of my wife's case being in production.

Either way, I believe the first e-mail is just telling you that USCIS has ordered the production of your EAD/AP card, while the e-mail you recieved Today is basically saying the official Notice of Approval for the EAD/AP has been mailed to your house.

I think i read somewhere that someone got their Notice of Approval and EAD/AP in the mail the same day.

Updates on my I-485: I got a first email at 4pm that my case is on Card Production status and I didn't have any interview. And I got another email tonight @ 9 that my case is on Decision status saying that they registered me today as a new permanent residence and I have to wait within 60 days before I receive the actual card. It really confuse me but this is how they updated my EAD application too. Well...the good thing is my application is approved, Yay! and that?s the most important to me. I can wait for my actual Green Card;-). August filers we?re almost done for this thing. And Congratulations to all!

Congrats on the EAD folks! I hope mine comes soon. On another note...

Patv, since we seem to be getting the same kind of dates... I wanted to check my online case status just out of curiosity and while it has been on "initial review' for my i485, today i checked it and i got this: Your case information is incomplete within Case Status Online. For further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

Did you experience a similar message? I called the number and they said theres nothing wrong with the application and its just a problem with the online system. I know i've been reading that the online system rarely gets updated so you shouldnt go by it but who would update it only to pull information off of it?

Anyways I got an infopass set for tomorrow morning (Friday) so I'm going to ask about that in addition to the 2nd interview notice and i'll let you know about that.
