Reading the Embassy reviews would appear to indicate that some people actually hear the words "You're approved", while some hear something like "your case looks okay".

Seems like people who said they were told that they're approved, they received their visa within days. Meanwhile, my fiance was told her case looks good - and it's been over 2-weeks now, and no visa yet.

I'm wondering if "your case looks good" is code for something like, "we need to check into something more/delay your visa issuance/etc." or what?

Why didn't WE get "you're approved"? Our case should have been a breeze. We've known each other for a third of our lives (11.5 years). No police/arrest record by either of us. Both healthy. Why are they stalling??

hi. i am also on the same boat, apparently they told me what was the document needed to comply for my 221g. I need to submit my letter of explanation to NBI and it should only took me 2-4 weeks. sad part is, NBI needs to interview me and for me it is a big WHY???? they already gave me the clearance but with annotation of 'NO CRIMINAL RECORD ON FILE" which I understand base on the requirement that USEM needs the letter but NBI to interview me? it sucks. all my documents for me get the clearance are all with them. I am bothered now as some of the government officials here in PI are corrupt (i do appologize as i am a Filipina but thats what happening now). Hope there is someone who could help us or shre their experience as well.

Thank you.

I recently was reading about this topic at other forums. The best I can tell with NBI if it is your first one it will say no record on file. And they seem to see that the same as saying your not in the system. If you have a second NBI it will say no derogatory record found. That is seen as yes you are in the system and no bad background found. So I dont know about your other question case looks good VS case approved but my understanding the NBI needs to say " No Derogatory Record Found". Jim.

I dont remember CO said anything to me about "you are approved" or "your case looks good". They just told me to pay visa delivery and done. Took 1 month before I recieved my Visa. Dont worry to much about it. They will tell you right away after the interview if you going to have a problem and if they need more documentation if they are not satisfied of your papers or proof of relationship. Some people just lucky to recieved their visa shorter than 2 weeks, some is longer than that, but it just the same. Just let her enjoy the days she have left in Philippines coz she gonna miss it alot when she's already here.

Yes, she got that form. She went the same day, stood in line for hours, got an NBI with her corrected middle name, and mailed it back using 2GO the same day. The Embassy got that on the 8th, and they refuse to tell us what they are doing - if anything - with it now.

That was before. Applicants pay for the visa delivery. :)

I don't think there's a difference between "You are approved" and "Your case looks okay". Usually the CO will say "hmmm your case looks okay.....okay you are approved". They are the same. That is why it is advisable to ask them about your status if you are approved or not to avoid confusions later on.

Okay, I think we got it... I received this email from the Embassy. Not quite sure that that means, though... Like they've decided to issue her a visa, and now we need to wait for printing? Or they have already given it to 2GO for delivery.
