Oh another thing that I forgot about that I noticed that was really confusing. My brother and dad were saying they were going to BBQ steaks. I was like, just give me my steak and let me cook it as I don't want my steak bbq'd because that would be utterly gross. My brother eventually realized I was getting it wrong had to tell me "grilling" and not bbq as I was thinking. Guess to them BBQ and Grilling are the same thing, while here BBQ is that slow roasted way with BBQ sauces you do to pulled pork and stuff.

Another one was the term holidays. My brother asked me how many I get a year, so I was trying to rhyme off all the holidays we have and he kept saying not those ones. So I was totally confused until his girlfriend understood and asked 'vacation days' I get a year. Again, they seem to put holidays and vacation days into one term which to me is really confusing just like BBQ/Grilling as one word...

Yeah BBQing is totally a Canadian thing. Haha, I say grilling now, but I everyone I know in Canada says BBQ. It's because most Canadians call it a barbeque and not a grill.

The holiday thing sounds very british/european. All the Canadians I know say vacation day, but most of the brits I know here in the US say holidays. I don't really find that Canadian.

I've been craving a trip to Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaws lately.

I really wish we had a Wegman's closer!!

BBQ is def. a Canadian thing. Gotta admit I still say it and never adjusted to saying "grilling". ahha Odd word, that.

We also say holidays in my family but thats because we're English.

Wegmans is like 20 minutes from me so I'm just too lazy to go all tha tway.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

The big one my fiance and I get mixed up on is "icing sugar". I've called it that, it says its icing sugar on the blasted Roger's sugar bag.. but in california it is "powdered sugar".

First time I requested my fiance buy icing sugar, he had no clue and asked his whole family and they didn't know what I was talking about.

Oh! The icing sugar thing really messed me up!

It's so funny, they sell Primo brand pasta here for soooooooo cheap. It says made in Canada on the bag, haha. Makes me happy that no one knows the brand and I can buy bags and bags of pasta at bargain prices!

If you live in the Philly/Atlantic City area (not sure about the rest of the NorthEast, but couldn't find it in DC) Canada Dry makes a LOVELY clear vanilla cream soda. I so wish we had it here in the SouthEast. :(

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

That's weird because my husband says BBQing all the time! Maybe he picked it up from me? But whenever there is a family gathering we are going to a "BBQ" not a "grill." Maybe it's a regional thing?

I was in Canada last week, and I noticed the prices too. I love Harvey's, but $25.00 for two people seemed pretty steep! And housing prices in our small town seem to have jumped up. I remember when you could get a pretty nice 2-3 bed house for around $100,000k. My brother bought a house a few weeks ago, 3 bed, 2 bath, about 2,200 sq ft in need of major renovation for $180k. If it was in good condition then maybe, but it needs A LOT of work. But you're right, it's all relative... There are a lot of places where that would seem like a great deal.

Coffee Crisp is as great as I remembered!

I never saw clear cream soda until I visited the US. It was always pink!

I took says elastics and icing sugar. And washroom. I confused my fiance and his family by calling it a washroom and not a bathroom.
