Hi Everyone,

My wife has an interview on Sept. 2 at the Mumbai Embassy, India. My wife and I got married in India in Jan. However, our marriage was only registered marriage with minor celebration such as ring ceremony and cake cutting and having pictures with both sides of family. We did not had a full-blown Indian wedding with all the religious ceremony. What if they ask for religious ceremony photos? How should she reply? For all Indian friends, what if they ask for 'vidhi' photos? Thanks in advance!

Full blown out marraige is the requirement. Simply tell that thruth - that you didn't want to waste money or you didn't have time to make all those arrangem,.....

They would want to see pictures from registered marraige - couple with witnesses/ relatives that attended the registered marraiges. Keep a list of all the realatives and friends that attended the reguistered marraige with addreses and telephone numbers, just in case. If you have honeymoon photos, take them. Let us know how the interview went after it is done. All the best.

By the way I too had registered marraige due to tiem factor ( I went in the middle of my spring semester), as I didn't to wait till May. Then I had a reception in India in May after my graduation. Your case is similar to mine and I appreciate your feedback after your interview.
