So I had my POE yesterday. There was about an hour wait at the border to get to the booth (but the said it would be 80 minutes, so no complaints there). If you have not been by the border recently, there is a new "no idling" system, where the cars move in batches, which is nice for gas consumption as well as the environment I think. I went down with my father driving the u-haul (packed to the brim, note to people, 10ft truck is a bit too small for moving a 1bdrm apartment, go for a 14ft if you can, we had to leave some things behind). We wanted to leave some space at first so that the customs officers could poke around inside, but that wasn't gone to happen.

Got to the booth, was directed into secondary, told to leave vehicle behind with all of our things (except passports and that important envelope). I left my itemized box list on my seat just in case they wanted to look at it. Went inside the building, and there are two lines there. One with lots of people, one with no one. We asked, and apparently k-visas get to go into the no-people lined up line. So that was nice. Started to process the paperwork, nice border guard told me what I needed to do when I got down to the states, asked me a few questions (where are you staying, where are you getting married, when are you getting married, where is your fiance now, etc, nothing bad at all). Waited a bit after he went away (about 15 minutes?) He came, finger printed me, etc. Then an alarm went off and all the guards dashed away outside, drama!

Came back about 15 minutes later, finished up, paid my $6 US, and was done. Nice and easy, about 45 minutes-1 hour in total? The u-haul in the end didn't even look like it was rifled through. Piece of cake!

Now we are unpacking, settling, going furniture shopping, etc. It is nice to be home :)
