After reading the recent post about needing a co sponcer for the affidavit of support, I have very serious doubts about my income will be acceptable. I do have my Mother who will be a co-sponcer for us with an adequate income. She has already filled out the I 134 form for me. And copied all the evidence needed. My question is if anyone knows can I send it directly to my husband in Accra for his upcoming interview to provide to the CO if needed? Or do I need to send it to the USCIS?? Im confused & trying to be as prepared as we can possibly be. Expecting the worst but hoping for the best. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I'm confused. It says you are following the CR-1/IR-1 path, so if that is true you would have submitted the I-864 to the NVC already, and they at first glance would have thought you met the minimum standards, and sent it on to the embassy. Having said that, the embassy makes the final decision. Also, if yo are in fact on the CR-1/IR-1 path, you do not use teh I-134, so can you please clarify exactly what path you are on, and what has been approved so far??

LOL.. Im very confused to with my husbands appointment quickly approaching I think im reading to much stuff & worrying myself. Yes we are married Filing IR1/CR1. I filed the I-864 & Now just had my mother also fill out the I-864. Im express mailing both completed signed forms the I-864 & I-134 to my husband with all evidence. I would hate to have the CO look at my husband & say you need a co-sponcer return in 6 months with the evidence. We have been waiting for this interview since April 2010.

OK Mrs....

There is no need for the I-134...just the I-864 for your mother--repeat DO NOT send the I-134--it will only confuse things. Has your financial situation changed since your original I-864 filing?? If so, you should include an updated I-864 for yourself. You are absolutely right to cover all your bases so you don't have to wait any longer

By the way, my daughter lives in Auburn, and I used to live in Aurora--really like the finger lakes area. Are you in Syracuse itself, or nearby ?? And has your husband ever even dreamed of 10 feet of snow in the winter?? Our interview is the same day as his and my wife has no idea what ice and snow and zero degree temperatures mean !!

We should exchange stories at the end of the first winter !!

Oh Thank you so much for your insight. I get so flustered reading other peoples Stories & experiences. I feel like we have come this far Id hate to have any set backs. Im shredding the I-134 & calling the NVC tomorrow just for some extra clarification on where to send the joint sponcer papers ie.. to him for the interview or to the NVC/USCIS directly..

And we are 45 minutes North East of Syracuse, right on Oneida Lake. My Husband has never experienced the snow or freezing temperatures before. I have however tried to prepare him over the past 2 & a half years with pictures & stories. Ive purchased electric blankets for him specificaly in mind. He will freeze his butt off the first few years Im sure.

We should definetly exchange stories come Spring. Best of luck to you & your wife on your interview.

Send the forms to him so he has them at the interview--read this site--it tells you everything.

I have sent pictures of snow, frozen rain on the trees, blizzards, but she won't get it until she is here--him either. I also have electric sheets for when she gets here, plus shopping for warm boots, mittens, parka, long underwear, hats, ear muffs--you know--all that normal winter stuff they have never seen.
