Give me your best scary movies

My wife is always after me to find good scary movies to watch.

I'm not a fan of horror movies because the acting and story line is often so weak but I f anyone knows of any good ones, that might work too.

For me good suspenseful scary movies are more like Silence of the lambs, can anyone name some others?

I've so many schlocky ones that I can't think of any good ones. Psycho is a classic but that's all that comes to mind right now.

I don't know if you'd consider Jawa to be a horror movie, but it's a great one too.
