Hi all, this is my first post. I am a spouse of a USC. My case at the NVC was completed on 5th Aug, 2011. I haven't heard anything as yet from them about an interview. How long does it normally take them to schedule one? I am from India and my case will be handled by the Chennai consulate.

hi,

now you just wait for an e-mail that they will send you concerning your interview date. I've been waiting since July 19th for an interview date and I didn't get one for September BUT from what i've seen it's because my consultant is in PORT AU PRINCE each country has their own waiting period there's a lot of people getting an interview date quicker from India. know that NVC say that that they schedule Interview date for the following month on the 2nd week of each month. Just like I am waiting now too for an interview date for October I am waiting for the 2nd week of September to see if I get one for October. It's another waiting period now too. Good luck!!

I am surprised that you didn't call NVC. I saw a August 1st approved and a August 10th approved getting September interview. I missed September, as my case was completed on 8/15. I was told that I will get October interview, which will be finalized in the first week of September.

Call on Monday and find out.

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC

I did call them twice. My last call was on 19th aug and all they said was that we are still in process scheduling an interview and that there is no fixed time frame. I am just really anxious to know if i even made it into september's interviews.... Gosh this is taking forever...

Don't panic - it looks like you may get September interview date else they would have told you that September id closed and will work on October interview in first week of Sept.

I hope so. I was checking out the DHL tracking thingy. The search showed a few results, but how do we know if that package is ours? Do you have any idea?

Sorry, I didn't understand the DHL thing - you can never know a oacket to be your.

In your case please note that your papers will not be sent to Consulate until you get a interview email. Call NVC on Monday and update us at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/325451-interview-tips-for-chennai-mumbai-delhi-calcutta/

From my calculations from NVC case complete to your interview date is about 50-55 days. It's been pretty accurate thus far. I hope you hear something soon.

my case is not logging (SIF) on 19 aug 2011 , so what do u thing when i will get my interview date?

It really depend on load at US consulate in UAE. Call NVC and check out.

oh i see.

If I recollect correct you mention in another thread that NVC said that there are no September interviews. If UAE consulate is not that busy, take up with them and try to get a September interview but after getting the interview letter/ email.
