hi, was bit worried and cant sleep, had my interview last august 03, it went well but after the interview i got 221g white slip and says on it have to submit to them my husband pay-stub,job status and IRA withdrawals and for myself they ask nbi under my first marriage with photograph, since on the nbi i got, has no photograph in it. it says on white slip WHAT TO DO NEXT: s on submission of required documents, i have no problem on the documents coz i can comply it. the problem is , it wont affect to the 221g that i lied that when CO ask me if i went to hongkong before , i answered no, even i went there just 3 days... the reason i lied because i didnt put on all documents that i filled up that i went to hongkong and also i cant remember the exact date when was it and the passport am using before on my single name was change and not used anymore and i misplaced then i couldnt see the stamp on it when was it i been at hongkong. It possible the CO knew that i lied? the passport am using now is my married name and no record or stamp on it that i was in hongkong last 2007 for just 3 days.. Thanks to somebody who could share their ideas and experience about this.

Yes, it is possible the CO knowed you lied. They obviously know you went to Hong Kong if they asked you "Have you been to Hong Kong?". Lying can lead to a lifetime, unwaiverable ban from the US. You should NEVER lie.

Asking if you've been to Hong Kong is not a routine question. What about your history suggests you've been to Hong Kong? Why did they ask you specifically about Hong Kong? What reason would you have to lie about that? Give us the story.

i have really no idea why he asked me that, he ask me if ive been to tourist before in even asian countries like hongkong or some other countries and because i didnt filled it up on any of the forms/ documents that i didnt come to other countries thats why i didnt said also when he ask me coz its just 3 days.. whats on my mind during interview is 6 months in other countries that they ask some requirements like police clearance, since am not there in hongkong for 6 months thats why i didnt say that i been there...

3 days is still 3 days.. you WERE there..point blank you did lie .... you should NEVER EVER LIE to a CO or on any forms.... We can't tell you what will happen but we CAN tell you that if they know you lied you will get consequences of that ... That is up to the CO as to what they will do with the information and make their decision from what they know.

Wish you best of luck.

Not necessarily. CO asks this question over and over.

If you are ever questioned again about this when you submit the documents they are asking for, better to come clean and be truthful.

Explain to the CO why you did what you did. It is always better to be truthful from the get go and not put yourself in this situation you're

in. Just my two cents!

Good luck!
