CFO expiration?

Does the CFO seminar or stamp have an expiration date? Most people are in a rush to get to the US, but we must wait til Jan. If she goes to St. Mary's now, will it still be valid in Jan?

Please go to that link, you will have an idea, some says it has six months validity.

I'm not rushing to be in US too so I'm planning to have my CFO after the interview. I plan to leave the country on November.

Our interview is done, but after the news of the 6-month limit being based on medical, I didn't want any more surprises.

So NO LIMIT on CFO, thanks for the link!!

Double check the visa expiration when she gets it. My wifes visa was only good for 4 months once she got it. For some reason they based it on the medical. There were no issues with the medical, so I don't know why it was like that. You guys should be good, but just doublecheck the expiration of the visa.

Yes, I learned the hard way about the visa. But my question was about the CFO seminar/stamp.

Where in alaska are you? Down in anchorage? I'm in north pole.

I only mentioned the visa expiration because of the later travel date you were talking about. At least the CFO doesn't expire. It is a real rip-off, but a requirement that there is no way around.

CFO has no expiration. I attended last year cause I need to renew my passport using my husband name and CFO is a requirement.

Maybe this is related, maybe not: My wife will get a new passport with her married name in it after I depart the Philippines next month, and of course she needs to attend the CFO seminar in order to do this. My question is...will she need to get another seminar in order to leave the Philippines once she gets her visa?

Yes she has to do the CFO to be able to get her new passport with her married last name as a requirement from DFA. She should bring a pictures of your wedding and any documents if you were divorce at one time and also your marriage license from NSO. Once completed she does not have to go back to do the course all she has to do is show her certificate of the course to the main branch to get her CFO sticker once she has her visa in hand. Hope that helps.
