HI! Quick question. Does anyone know a good link for the vaccines list that's required to have . Ive actually found alot on here, but all the lists are different. I was wondering if there is one specifically for Canadians. (im just assuming it might be different for every country) CAuse i think im missing one or two and would love to get them before the medical (which is still far far away) :) haha

Thank you to anyone that responds :)

For the medical exam for the interview, I referred to this website: http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm It's the website for the medical examiner in Toronto. You will have your medical exam done either in Toronto (Dr. Seiden), Montreal (Medisy's) or Vancouver. I do not know if they all follow the same guidelines strictly but I think this should give you a good idea of what you need since all three doctors perform exams for the consulates.

I am unsure of this, but I believe that once you enter US and get married, they require a medical exam that's within one year of your filing for AOS, which usually means you use the same medical exam you got for the interview. I *think* that generally they accept the vaccination guidelines as outlined by one of the three doctor's in Canada that do exams for the consulates but I am unsure as I haven't reached that part of the process yet. Anyone want to enlighten us? :)

That is, if you "pass" your medical exam for the interview does it mean you have all the vaccinations required for AOS? I'm a K1 if that makes a difference (and I believe the OP is too, looking at their signature.)

The link that pocheros supplied has the list of immunizations that you will require. You will need to supply either your immunization records, or titre test results at your medical, so I would start looking into getting either of those....unless you already have them!

I made a couple of calls to try to track down my immunization records, but wasn't getting anywhere, so I decided it was much easier to just get the titre tests done.

If you need the TDaP booster, I think it is called Adacel (sp) in Canada.

Your medical is only valid for a year, so most people wait until just before your interview to have it done, that way it will still be valid for when you do AOS.

Correct. If you file your AOS and your original medical is still valid (it is for a year), you can just send in your DS-3025 (vaccination sheet) and not have a whole other medical done.

Is the DS-3025 given back to you after your interview, in your sealed package? Is the sealed package opened at the border and given to you after processing?

The DS-3025 comes attached to your medical and xray. You take that off and keep it for your records, don't take it to the interview with you but make sure you keep it safe.

I went to Dr. Seiden in Montreal and I didn't receive a copy of the DS-3025 (I am not sure if they over looked it, or it is just the way they do it), but I contacted them and asked if it was also included within the sealed package and they confirmed it was. I did not get my vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693 for AOS and I did not recieve an RFE.

So if you don't get a copy of the DS-3025 don't freak out!! You will be fine!

Make sure you ask for your copy at the medical when you pick up the results.

You do not get anything out of the packet at the POE or at the embassy.

Glad I photocopied the vaccination sheet  The consulate didn't keep the sheet attached to the outside of the medical folder, of course, but I'm glad I have a few copies in case one gets lost.

Before I did my medical I brought the list of vaccinations on Dr. Seiden's website to my family doctor and asked her if I should get any. I had an MMR when I was a kid but she gave me a booster since immunity to one of those things (I think it was rubella, but I digress) tends to fade as you get older. She also said that she's pretty sure at some point during the immigration process they'd want me to get an MMR booster. It's a good idea to check it out with your family doctor because they might get you some free vaccines- if they give you vaccines at the medical exam it'll cost you.

Good point, I had the measle and rubella portion of the MNR when I was a child - not the mumps portion, in the end to avoid any extra costs at the medical I had to come back to Thunder Bay to get my MMR booster (free at the health unit), fax it to Dr. Seiden before he could sign of my medical. I noticed he checked off lots that were not age appropriate. I will photo copy that sheet before leaving for Montreal tomorrow.

There's another copy of the sheet inside the unopened medical exam folder, so you truly only need the one the comes attached to it on the outside- but I'm paranoid so I photocopy everything!

This is what my family doctor said about some of the vaccines:

pertussis: is only covered for 15 year olds

Hep a: is for travel to countries where you're more likely to be infected by it (Mexico, etc.) and it's not covered

influenza: seasonal

influenza type b/hib: is for babies

pneumococcal: is for 65 year olds

rotavirus: is for babies

No it's not country dependent. All that's country dependent is what shots are available. UK doesn't have varicella (chicken pox) available so if you have no history of chicken pox in the UK and so need the shot, you won't require it until AOS and will need to get the shots and get a CS I-693 transcription.

Here: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/downloads/adult/mmwr-adult-schedule.pdf page 2 has a table. This is what they use for age requirements but this is the CDC guide, which USCIS uses, but also includes vaccinations that are not required for immigration purposes (HPV and Zoster are't required anymore but used to be). So that's why you look here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3384cc5222ff5210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=6abe6d26d17df110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD to see what shots are required and compare to that table.

You'll find you just need:

- tDaP

- MMR (2 shots)

- Varicella (2 shots or history of chicken pox)

- Flu (if seasonal)

and that's it.

What's the MMR booster? (is that the one that is 4 shots in 1?) I know im missing one that im suposed to get every 10years. and i plan on asking the doctor i see if im missing any. and i have my mom back home asking my family doctor about the ones im missing (if any) because back home (small town) it can take over 3 months just to get an appointment. So thats why im getting it in advance (just to be safe)... I just want to do this now, so that at my medical i wont need any. But if im missing some, im hoping it's not 6 hahaha... that would suck :P

thank you for everyone that posted on here. It was a great help. with all the lists that are out there, i wasnt sure which one was the good one. :) ive had all the regular shots needed growing up. so i doubt im missing much. (except from what my mom told me, there were some shots that werent given out when i was a baby) so those are the ones im looking into.

Happy journey to everyone!!!
