Moderators please HELP this user

She can´t send messages through messenger, or post in the forums.

Other users can´t send her messages either.

She can only post in the status update section.

Please can someone fix it for her?

Her account is still showing as validating, which means that the sign in process isn't completed yet. She should have received an email that she needed to respond to which would then activate the account. Once she responds to this email she should be able to post.

This happened to me too...verrry frustrating! It just kept saying validating even after I had opened the email and confirmed registration. Basically I ended up just waiting a week until my username/password wouldnt even work anymore - and then I re-submitted it! This time it worked!

I left her a note, but what if she deleted the activation email?

If she has deleted the email or if she has returned it but it isn't working, she could also re-register with a new user name if she doesn't want to wait for the current account to expire. That would be the easiest. If she has returned the email and doesn't want to start a new account, let me know and I will see if administration can then activate the account.

Did Admin change the profiles to keep new users from posting for a while after validating? She can also try logging out and logging back in to reset the cookies, or refreshing the page.

It would be unusual and incredibly dangerous to store permissions in cookies or anywhere else on the client. Since posting permissions are likely controlled server-side, refreshing the page or clearing cookies won't do any good.

No, there have been no changes.

Once the account has validated the member should be able to post. The current restrictions on new members are that they are only able to send one PM and are not able to use the 'friends' options until after they have made at least one post in the forums. That is to help protect members from spam accounts as well as assisting the mod team in dealing with identified spam accounts

Not being able to post after an account has validated is a glitch. Not being able to get the account to validate after responding to the validation email is also a glitch.
