If I get a sponsor for a visa, am I able to move to another employer or to another city to work or will I have to work for that employer for a certain amount of time before I am allowed to move to another city/state in America to work somewhere else?

From immigration you are free to move to any employeer or state, but it depends on your contract with your friest employeer. Some employeer do put a clause in offer letter that you are supposed to work with them for x number of months etc.

However if you still change and employeer during your clause period either you are required to pay back your orig employeer the agreed amount or they can sue you for breach of contract and recover that money.

Most employeer would put a clause as they are aware that ppl would jump the employeer and it does cost them a lot to file for one petition.

I believe that your visa is only valid for the job that sponsors you. Once you figure out what visa you're getting, the rules on this will be stated.

And likely, your contract with your employer will stipulate that you must work for them for a certain amount of time.

Not to mention it would be extremely unprofessional to get sponsored by a company and then quit shortly after.

Thank you for the replies. I just wanted to see if there was a requirement of me staying with the same employer and now I found my answer. Thank you.

It depends on the type of visa you have. H and L visas specifically tie you to one employer. If you want to change, you must qualify again for the new employer. If you change without USCIS approval on those visas, you will be accuring unlawful presence and illegal work.
