OK, Im back. The number i called is 800 829 1040.

-Select option 2 for personal Tax Account

-Select option 2 for personal Tax Return

-Enter your SS Number

-Select option 1 for detailed Review of account

When I did this I got a live person but perhaps when I called some 6-7 months ago their system could have been down - dont remember. Good luck and let us know if this works for you.

Well, reading more of what my lawyer had sent me (my bad for not finish reading down to the next paragraph), you will get a live one and ask for a faxed copy of form letter 1722.
