The procedure is all dealt with in the FAQ.

But a K1 is for a fiance, not a spouse.

Marriage is a bit like Virginity, very few grey areas. Why do you think you are not legally married?

What you have done is not legal and I would worry about repercussions. After doing all this work for a K-1 why would you do that?:blink:

How can you do the k1 when you got married in Colombia? You better be finding out if the marriage is legal here in the USA. I think if it is legal, you may have to start all over and do the k3. Maybe talk to an experienced immigration attorney?

Anyways, I wish you the best!

If he had a legal wedding in Colombia I do not see how he can get married legally in the U.S. You need to see a immigration lawyer ASAP. There are serious legal issues here not to be taken lightly and you need to start trying to fix these problems. I am not an attorney but she could be banned/barred from the U.S. for ten years or more. Something to thing about?

Yes I do not think it is going to be that easy to get her into the states-unless I am misreading your original post and I have this all wrong??????? The k-1 is to bring your fiancee' over NOT your spouse.

definetly speak with a lawyer

I'm confused. I see on your timeline that you've already been through the interview and they approved you and issued you a visa. However, I'm not sure that you can get married in another country. I thought that you had to get married in the U.S. for the fiance visa to work. I'm with Peter in thinking that you need to see an immigration lawyer ASAP.
