The USCIS representative gave you the average processing time, which is the same that the USCIS website has: 5 months for Vermont Service Center. Of course, it might take less than that for some or more than that for others, that's why it is just an average.

If you want to start preparing ahead, you can check the list of documents that your local consulate might require for the interview and start planning on putting your interview package together. Just keep in mind that some documents might be valid only for a certain period of time , but you can start finding out about the next step so you can be prepared ahead of time.

It is very possible it could take 5 months or more to get the NOA 2. The petition then goes to NVC & on to your embassy.

You have to realistic about the time frame. You are going to be dealing with Pakistan. There are many people that have lengthy waits due to how long the issuance of the visa can take after the interview there. Many cases are sent for A P or additional processing. That means background checks which take time.

You should check with people that have been thru that embassy to find out what to expect.

Allow 6 months from the date of NOA1, inclusive of the following,

- Petition processing / approval notice

- File sent to NVC for case number assignment (Average time frame 4 weeks)

- At least a week for DHL delivery of package to ISL following completion at NVC level.

We are awaiting for an interview date from the consulate likewise. As soon as the interview date is provided, I will be sending my fiancee the required cash for medical and visa processing fees at consulate level, a total of $550...

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Really, it can take anywhere from a couple of months (or less) to 6 or 7 months (or longer). There is no way in telling how long yours is gonna take, so all you can really do is wait for now, it will happen in due time! :) Good luck!
