So a few days ago we received our text/email confirmation notifying us that our petition had been sent to Vermont Service Center for processing. I've heard about terribly long wait times over the last year. Has it been as bad recently? Can any other Canadian filers comment on wait times through VSC?

Not from Canada - but 125 days for us. I'm not sure at this point it matters too terribly much what country you are coming from...I think things start to change and become more country/embassy related after the NOA2. Good luck.

I would just look at Igor's List in the Immigration Timelines section to give yourself an idea of when you can expect the NOA2. My own took 117 days which was right in line with what I could deduce from Igor's.

As you can see from the replies, processing times vary a lot so there is no way in telling how long yours will take. Beneficiary's country makes no difference. Also, VSC is sometimes slower, sometimes faster and same goes for CSC. When I filed last year, CSC didn't approve any petitions all summer while VSC was approving petitions at normal rate, so CSC was the dreaded one. Then CSC picked up the speed in fall and VSC slowed down. It changes all the time so all you can do is wait and try not to worry, it will happen in due time. :)

My Immigration Journey:

K1: June 2010 - December 2010

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

ROC: April 2013 - August 2013

Naturalization: March 2014 - August 2014

we were right at the 5 month mark when they sent us and RFE. then about 3 weeks to approve our petition. then sent to NVC, where someone, i do not know which agency, had my birthday wrong, so i could not get any info. sent in birthd certificate and passport and 2 weeks, had application sent to china:-)

so, i think be patient until the 5th nmonth and if it goes one or two more weeks, strat calling the VSC.....todd

CSC slowing down as it seems, so VSC now doesn't seem as slow as earlier. We're waiting already 6 weeks in CSC, still have more than 100 petitions in front of us by VJ stats, and last 4 weeks CSC approving just about 13 petitions per week in average. If CSC will not catch up, our processing time probably also will be 3,5-4 months. It's Victor from Russia writing.
