For the medical portion, is it full copies (all pages) of the passport or just biography page?

Just biography page, interview latter, 2 passport size pic and 5000-6000 Ra. It depends upon vaccine. My wife paid 4700 Rs.

Here are a few questions that were asked at the consulates in India - as per different reviews posted in the recent past. Almost everyone said "Be cool and answer to the point and help the CO to approve (you know what this means - don't mess up due to nervousness)". A few said that the decision looks like was already made before the interview - that is what they felt.

  1. Who is calling you to US? (I guess, who filed your petition)
  2. Who is sponsoring you? (in cases where these is a co-sponsor)
  3. If this an arranged marraige?
  4. If yes, then. Who arranged it? or How did the proposal come?
  5. How did you meet your spouse? ro Hwen did you first meet your spouse?
  6. If someone other than your parents, then. How does he know you or your parents....?
  7. Did you go on honeymoon or was your marraige consumated?
  8. If you went on honeymoon, then. Where did you go? Why did you decide to go? How many days?
  9. How many people attanded your marraige? or Who all (close relatives) came to attend your wedding?
  10. Show me your spouse's parents in the picture?
  11. What does your spouse do in US?
  12. What is your spouse's full name?
  13. What is your spouse's income?
  14. How long your spouse has been in US?
  15. When did your spouse become a Citizen/ Naturalized? (question depends)
  16. Who did he go with to US?
  17. What is his major in college? or Where did he study?
  18. Where does he work currently? (May be study now in other cases?) or What does your husband do for living?
  19. Where is your spouse currently? (helps those that accompanied their spouses)
  20. How long has spouse been staying in that place?
  21. What is his boss name? (surpised at this question)
  22. When are you planning to go to US?
  23. What are the full names of your in-laws? (funny but one of those was asked)
  24. Where do your in-laws work in US? (I guess they mean their employers)

Tough questions were asked for those that have previous history of divorce, where there is big age difference,..... Be prepared for those questions if you fall into that category. The K-1 visa applicants were invariably asked to give a list of future wedding plans & arrangements, guest list, reception plans & arrangements, honeymoon plans.......

Thanks for posting these interview questions.

One of my friend's wife who had her interview in July was asked "what color sari did your mother-in-law wore on the day of the wedding?" Just to be on the safe side everyone should know what color outfits did mom/dad/bro/sis/mother-in-law/father-in-law wore on the wedding day just incase if they ask.

I have a very bad news to share - I messed up totally and am having to send I-864 again - going to USPS Office.:bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

We had sent AOS on 8/3 and since we didn't get any response till 8/13, we send out an email with a copy of the AOS packet. By 8/15 the original AOS was processed and the case was closed on 8/15.

But our inquiry email was processed on 8/16 and they issued a RFE now asking us to send signed I-864 again. I tried to plead with a supervisor but she gave two option - i) she can put up to her highier authority to ignore the email but it will take time (20 business days) and then if they decide that I should send it, then it gets further delayed (20 business days) or ii) I submit I-864 quickly and it will get processed quickly (20 Business days).

The lesson I learned and I want other to be aware is never resend your documents in email.

I was just checking the AVR message hoping to get some change in the message for the better. Yes, I definitely got the change but for the worst. Didn't have the courage to call and tell wife, so emailed. Last time she was dissappointed that we missed September interview but now she immediately called asked me not to worry. That is half the battle won.

Definitely the thought came "If only I had not attached...". But quickly I brushed it aside - I have to pay for the mistakes I make else there is no justice. Hopefully others will take cue and avoid such costly mistakes.

On a second thought - we may still have a little chance of making it to the October end interview. Just overnighted the I-864 with Cover sheet. The Lord is good and His grace is sufficient for us.

So my wife and I have a question about the medical portion.

When they strip you down and and search your body to see if you had an surgeries or anything my wife did have surgery on her arm. She broke it when she slipped and fell off of her scooter.

She had two rods put in to straighten the bone out. She will let the doctor know she had this surgery when she is asked, but do they ask for any other documentation to show that your really did have it?

If so, we need to hunt these documents down somehow.

No, they don't need any other proof. I have had surgery before and wasn't asked for extra documentation. They did ask me if I had had any surgeries, I replied yes and showed them the scar.

However verbal declaration of chicken pox is not good enough. I still had to take the shot even though I suffered from chicken pox in fifth grade. I did offer to show the doctor the ugly pock marks on my back as proof.

Hey Dave,

They do ask for documentation about the surgery. One of our relatives was asked to submit a letter from a doctor specifying about her wrist surgery. It was a very minor surgery - lasted for 15 mins - no hospitalization; still they asked for documentation.

I had my medical exam at apollo city center hospital (ahmadabad) and the doctor hardly spent 10 mins with me asking basic medical questions like do you have diabetes,h/l blood pressure, surgery, hospitalization.

Even if you don't have any documents just take a letter from any doctor specifying about surgery and treatment.

Regards

Dave any news! Of course I am waiting for SIF sometime by month-end.

Nothing yet my friend. Only thing we can get right now is an e-mail and we got nothing so far. When offices open tomorrow I'll give them a call again.

Really hoping for something this week. I skyped with my wife and my in-laws this afternoon. They are just as anxious as we are here.
