Looks good to me bhai!

I need to get my list going as well. This is going to help me put my evidence/interview packet together for my wife here soon.

Just a note it's' "INR" not "IRS"

Also my wife is submitting docs you VFS Ahmadabad, what makes Hyderabad different that you cannot submit docs there?

Also I have been around here for a while, I think this upcoming interview pool is going to be quite large and the largest I have seen for us Indians, the more the merrier! :)

I wrote to that supid Chennai VFS inwuiring whether we can submit the VFS requirements at HYD and they were silent on that.

Mumbai website made it clear that you can submit the requirements at other VFS but Chennai didn't make it clear. I guess we can submit at Hyderabad too. If we can submit at VFS HYD, she will go to HYD for Medical and VFS work. She is right now in HYD - will tell her to call VFS HYD and get confirmation.

Here are a few questions that were asked at the consulates in India - as per different reviews posted in the recent past. Almost everyone said "Be cool and answer to the point and help the CO to approve (you know what this means - don't mess up due to nervousness)". A few said that the decision looks like was already made before the interview - that is what they felt.

  1. Who is calling you to US? (I guess, who filed your petition)
  2. Who is sponsoring you? (in cases where these is a co-sponsor)
  3. If this an arranged marraige?
  4. If yes, then. Who arranged it? or How did the proposal come?
  5. How did you meet your spouse? ro Hwen did you first meet your spouse?
  6. If someone other than your parents, then. How does he know you or your parents....?
  7. Did you go on honeymoon or was your marraige consumated?
  8. If you went on honeymoon, then. Where did you go? Why did you decide to go? How many days?
  9. How many people attanded your marraige? or Who all (close relatives) came to attend your wedding?
  10. Show me your spouse's parents in the picture?
  11. What does your spouse do in US?
  12. What is your spouse's full name?
  13. What is your spouse's income?
  14. How long your spouse has been in US?
  15. When did your spouse become a Citizen/ Naturalized? (question depends)
  16. Who did he go with to US?
  17. What is his major in college? or Where did he study?
  18. Where does he work currently? (May be study now in other cases?) or What does your husband do for living?
  19. Where is your spouse currently? (helps those that accompanied their spouses)
  20. How long has spouse been staying in that place?
  21. What is his boss name? (surpised at this question)
  22. When are you planning to go to US?
  23. What are the full names of your in-laws? (funny but one of those was asked)
  24. Where do your in-laws work in US? (I guess they mean their employers)

Tough questions were asked for those that have previous history of divorce, where there is big age difference,..... Be prepared for those questions if you fall into that category. The K-1 visa applicants were invariably asked to give a list of future wedding plans & arrangements, guest list, reception plans & arrangements, honeymoon plans.......

Any reason you submitted the DS-230 related documents at VFS? Didn't you submit those at NVC.

I have submitted certified copy of birth and marriage certificate to NVC so I have to submit original to VFS and the lady at counter asked me if I have form ds-230 ? I said yes then she asked me sign and date part one of the form.

That means the certified copies are good enough for NVC but one will have to submit the Originals either at Interview or to VFS. Makes sense.

Thanks for the reciept! It really helps us out!

We turned in my wife's sole birth certificate that she had with the IV Packet . But we did make several true copies just in case something happened. Would this suffice for VFS?

Just photocopies are fine IF you have submitted original to NVC and also take another DS-230 sign and dated (orginal) at VFS just in case they ask for.

I was on safe side and didnt send originals because I have seen people whose original documents was lost by NVC.

Hi

Right now my is going to VSF office Mumbai. I hv q. I submitted original birth certificate and certified copy of marriage certificate with DS 230 package. So, now VSF office looking for original marriage certificate or not. Is certified marriage certificate is ok with Mumbai consulate. We got certified marriage certificate from Government office. They did not give us original. They said this same as original. The certified copy has original black pen sign and stamp.

So Do i have to submitte original marriage certificate to VSF or Mumbai consulate or not?

Is certified copy of marriage certificated is good or not?

Thankx
