07/18/2011 - Send my Naturalization Certificate via mail and email for upgrading my case from F2A to CR1.
07/19/2011 - Gave both emails to NVC and received IIN#
07/21/2011 - Got confirmation email about changing my petition from F2A to CR1. Up-gradation took 4 business days.
07/29/2011 - AOS Fee Bill Received & Paid Online.
07/29/2011 - DS-3032 Email sent to NVC from beneficiary.
08/01/2011 - AOS package invoice shows "PAID" and Package mailed to NVC.
08/02/2011 - DS-3032 received by NVC.
08/03/2011 - IV Fee Bill Received & Paid Online.

Yes, next monday is the day for you both. Does Delhi require you to submit the medical only at VFS or allows it to be submitted at Interview also (like Chennai)! I trust that you are ready or getting ready with the additional evidence - All the very best with interview - hope to hear the good news next Monday.

VFS is not taking any documents related to the proof of relationship. VFS, Hyderabad encouraged us to take the Medical report to interview. SinghIsKing also informed that Delhi is doing the same.

Wife just finished formalities with VFS.

She was asked to submit medical, the fee, passport copy and 2x2 photographs.

All set for interview now.

Two Delhi bound and two different answers for submission of the medical.

SinghisKing, I may be wrong but I remember to have read a review where the Delhi consulate wanted the medical report to be submitted only at VFS. Please check with VFS.

SinghisKing, I may be wrong but I remember to have read a review where the Delhi consulate wanted the medical report to be submitted only at VFS. Please check with VFS.

This is India. You may get totally different answer from 3rd person. :)

just on a diffrent note ....I am trying to get tickets for my wife through British Airways .Is anyone of you aware of any visa restrictions for UK during transit .

She has a 3 hr halt at London .

I am not getting clear answers if any transit visa is required if if she is not planning to go out of the airport

Let me know if anyone travelling with the same airline and wife will be getting the GC after the interview

Ooophs, we travel all the time by British Airways and didn't think of this for wife - booked return on 30th. I will try to research/ find out regarding the transit visa, if any, from the travel agent. Let me know if you get hold of any information.

Why would you need a transit visa? As long as your within the security bubble and do not plan to leave the airport why is this needed?

It's just like the last time I went to India and stopped in London. I did not need a visa at all...I just had to get off the plane, change termninals and get re-checked for security and on my way to the flight to India.

About Transit Travel

  • If the traveler is a passenger embarking at a foreign port on a cruise ship or other vessel which is proceeding to a foreign destination other than the U.S., and during the course of the journey, the vessel makes port in the U.S. with no intention of landing in the U.S., a transit visa or other nonimmigrant visa is required.
  • If the traveler seeks layover privileges for purposes other than for transit through the U.S., such as to visit friends or for sightseeing, the applicant will have to qualify for the type of visa required for that purpose, such as a B-2 visa.
  • A crewperson traveling to the U.S. as a passenger to join a ship or aircraft would require a transit visa.
  • A foreign traveler proceeding in immediate and continuous transit through the U.S. to or from the United Nations Headquarters District, under provisions of the Headquarters agreement with the United Nations, would require a diplomatic transit (C-2) visa and have certain restrictions on travel within the U.S.

Yes, it makes sense and we travelled before through BA while we were on Green Card and didn't have any issues. But I know a lot of Green card holders (specially Desis) avoid London, don't know the real reason. However sent an email to travel agent and should hear someting soon.
