Is any of the petitioners planning to go to their interview in India? I got married in Feb but it happened in very difficult circumstances. One the morning of my wedding my dad suffered heart attack and was taken to hospital in critical condition. Naturally, I spent my whole day in hospital and at the evening went to my wedding (Dad wanted me to get married regardless). We made the event very close family friends/ family affair however proper ceremonies did occur and it was photographed and video was done. However, I did not plan to go on honeymoon coz my concern was making sure that my dad received the best care possible. After my dad came home, I came back to US and filed for paperwork.

My interview is scheduled for 10/17 and I am going to attend it with my wife to make sure I can answer any concerns the CO may have. I am planning to take the following documents as our evidence for relationship:

Phone records

Skype records

Facebook chat/ message record

Affidavit from witness stating that they attended my wedding (these were also submitted withthe USCIS I-130 application)

Photographs from wedding ceremony and some other photographs

Stamps on my passport for entering India (before wedding) and leaving India (post wedding)

Do you think I should take anything else?

It is quite possible that the consulate may not let me enter but I am going to try. Best of luck to everyone! And thanks for your input.

msupreme2284,

Those evidences should be enough. In India,US consulates won't let you accompany your wife inside the consulate during the intervew, however they will let you to use consulate Library where you can sit till your wife interview gets over.

Please take copies of I-130, DS-3032, I-864 and DS-230 packets along with all the evidence of continuing relationship. I don't think you should be concerned about not going on honeymoon, given the circumstances. I am planning to reach Chennai a day before wife's interview on 10/25 and to return together. Please make sure that your wife tell the CO that you are outside waiting - it is a big plus for continuing relationship. And all the very best with your interview at Delhi.

Thanks!! I'm sending these copies to my wife even before i get there so that she has them for her VFS office trip. I'll be reaching India right before her interview date and will try to go in with her to the consulate (I'll have my US passport ready to claim my right ;).

Don't forget to take pheras or ring ceremony pictures because more likely they will ask you for it well atleast that's what consulate had asked from my husband. If you have a co-sponsor then be sure that your wife knows information about co-sponsor. If your wife knows basic information about you and your family then she really doesn't have anything to worry about at all. She will get approved for her visa for sure. Good luck & have a safe trip to India :)

You can make an appointment for the medical whenever you want but they will only go thru with the appointment if you have the interview letter. So, you need your interview letter to get do the medical.

VFS will not take the additional evidence of relationship - your wife needs to take those to interview. VFS accepts only the required documents like medical report, courier fee, copy of passport, copy of interview letter, 3 passport photos and any other documents asked for in your interview letter. All the best.

All 3 DHL packets containing all our cases were delivered at respective consulates on 9/19.

Got half of the interview evidence documents done.

Now I have to cut down the chat transcripts. This is going to be a chore as If I would print it out to the full entirety I would have over 500+ pages.

Next couple days I will be glued on the computer trying to cut those down.wacko.gif

Your most welcome. WOW very nice song :)

It's always sweet when husband dedicates a song like this to his wife. You should use window live movie maker and make a video of all the pictures of the two of you along with a romantic song as a background and post it on her facebook wall. I'm sure she will be deeply touch by it. I have done that many times for my husband :)

You can print multiple pages on 1 page that way it will atleast cut down 500+ pages to maybe 200 pages. That's what we did but they never asked for any sort of proof of relationship at all except for wedding ceremony pictures.

Yes, trying to book my tickets to reach Chennai on 10/24 - a day before interview. We will stay at Chennai till 10/27 or 10/28 to collect passport and visa packet from VFS, Chennai (we have train tickets booked for both days).

Also taking the risk of booking return jouney tickets for both of us on 10/30 from Hyderabad. Do you think it is risky and whether I need to give more time. I request those who had been to Chennai to guide me regarding getting the passport and Visa at VFS, Chennai.
