It depends on what the doctor suggests you need. Make sure she takes an updated vaccination report so they don't give her an injection she already has.

I suggest you take the maximum listed on there. You plan for the worst in all occasions and hope for the best.

Dave,

She do not have any vaccination reports with her. Infact most of the places in India, doctors will not give any vaccination reports. I guess she has to pay additional RS11,950 or so

I'm glad my wife has one.

Ganesh 86, I gathered the information from others who had been to both Hyderabad and Chennai and it comes to around 5000 - 6000 (both for medical and vaccinations), so don't worry about all those charges. We are not sure where wife want to go for medical but leaning towards Hyd.

Congratulations NavyK!!!!!!

Thank you very much Nilu&Bhakti - it is a great relief.

Hi Dave and Kinnari,

Thanks.

1) If the beneficiary lives in 2 places (diff state). Does he/she need Police Clearance Certificate & Passport Clearance Certificate from both places, so the total 4 Clearance certificates?

2) Is the Passport Clearance Certificate also called or known as Exit Permit?

As far as I know this rule appears changed. I think the police clearance certificate that the passport office gives is enough since anyway they will have all that information. check these links for

http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9215

Police Records

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office.

Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.

Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.

Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.

even the below Chennai website shows the same requirement, it does ask for only the PCC from passport office.

Thank you Navyk, even I thougth medical test should not cost more than RS6000.

Folks, even though consulate says Indian Police Certificate is not required it is better to have it ready because you never know what the consular officer is going to ask. It is better to have too many documents than none because it won't hurt.

All Indian CR1/IR1 applicants that got interview letter please check page 4, where the "Indian Police Certificate" is marked with document status "F", which means "This form is not necessary for this application" (see page 3 for Document status descriptions). If this different for you guys, let me know.

I sent my Local PCC and it was just ignored, as per page 4 of wife's interview letter.

I sent my Local PCC and it was just ignored, as per page 4 of wife's interview letter.

NVC/EMBASSY does not require local PCC they only need Passport Clearance Certificate issued by regional passport office.

The Passport Office issue Passport Clearance Certificate on the basis of Police Verification Certificate (Which is called local PCC) and they will also stamped on the passport of applicant.

I can upload my PCC if its helpful to users.
