i am so sorry to hear what happened to your spouse..this must be very difficult time and situation to be in..but this is what i believe that if you are speaking the truth then nobody can deny you the visa...just calm down ask her what exactly went wrong and what did she wrote on that paper? try to get a lawyer and try to get another appointment where he/she goes into the embassy with the lawyer.

How long is the medical exam and passport clearance cert. valid for?

If possible I would like to get this soon just in case we are granted an earlier interview. It's a long shot, but I want to stay prepared on our end.

One year, I believe. But you might want to check with the consulate directly as it can be 6 months (for the PCC) at some places.

Medical- 1 year

Passport PCC- 6 months.

My wife will be scheduling her medical exam very soon.

I found a post that had the following as what was needed for the medical exam

1. Three passport size photos

2. Immunization records

3. Original Passport

4. Interview Letter

Is there anything else required that is not listed about? I know she will need about ₹6000 as well.

Dave, I just returned from my long week-end trip and just logged on. I see that you got interview date 11/10 - I know that you would have loved an October date, never the less congrats. I will call them tomorrow to find out mine.

I thought it gets updated in 1 - 3 days - may be the long week-end delay it. On getting this message I called NVC but the wait now is 15 minutes plus, so I will call them a little later.

My case is closed just a day before your case got closed. I am still waiting to hear from the NVC about interview date. I did speak with a nice operator this morning and she said we will definetly hear something before the end of Friday or Monday as the latest. Looks like we are going to fit into 1st 2 weeks of November schedule.

I just spoke with Department of State follwed by NVC and still no luck. Not sure why there is so much delay scheduling interview.
