Hey, I just finished up getting my packet ready to send in for the wifey, we met while i was stationed in germany 4 years ago i just recently had to move to texas and now I am deployed in Afghanistan, But we are going to try our best to get all of this done while I am here so she can be waiting for me when i come home!

So far I have all of the stuff i need for the initial I130 packet, just have to pick up her versions of the G325 and our passport photos in 2 weeks when i go on LEAVE (Which im very excited for) then im going to mail it to the Chicago Lock Box or w.e that is(Apparantly i cannot file in germany because im "living" in the United States") and wait for the notice of action i suppose. This whole process is extremely confusing for me at the moment but with the help of this website im sure to save money and time by having a good understanding of what I need to do, which Im very thankful for.

I guess I have a few questions which may have been answered here, but this internet out here is so slow I would rather just type them here instead of taking 30 min to search (Sorry)

- Will they let us know what we need to do as we go along, In my mind im worried they will say, ok move on to step 3 without explaining what papers we need to do, Im hoping that they send us a detailed list of what we need next and how we go about getting what they need.

- Will they be able to EMAIL me at each point that something happens so I know what to do and whats going on, or will they just email the beneficiary?

- Is this ALL easier then it looks? It feels insane right now just due to the fact that im deployed which makes it harder but Hopefully it is much easier then it seems.

Thank you all so much for any help and advice!

READ THE GUIDES. Go to the Wiki tab at the top and read "how to bring your spouse to live in the us" and LingChe's guide, James' shortcuts, etc. Totally helpful, everything you need to know about a standard case is there, the paperwork, the steps that are done at each stage, etc. It is easier than it looks. Good Luck.
